Excellent and Eclectic Breakfast or Lunch

We became enamored with Gutiz when they began serving dinner, but unfortunately, after they remodeled and expanded their space, they suspended dinners. Too bad, because we ate there once a week! However, we've been back twice in the past month for breakfast or lunch, and I can say that this will... read more

Three times I purchased flourless chocolate in a week, yes I believe in cake at breakfast! The coffee is very good for a restaurant that coffee is not their specialty. The breakfasts were fabulous. First by myself. Second, with my husband and third, with my son and grandson. The Scrambled Egg Tower, Gutiz potatoes and mixed greens were perfect. The... More

Honestly, we weren't that impressed with Taos overall but if you're spending time there give Gutiz a try. We had an excellent breakfast in this simply decorated restaurant. The wait staff was very friendly, the food was good, and the service was attentive. Can't ask for much more. Don't be fooled by the plain exterior. It's a good find.

From the old times when Sr. Gutierrez opened the restaurant, it has remained as one of the best places to ear in Taos. Super friendly waitresses, great food and there is more space after the renovations. Don't forget to try the owner's very own chocolate truffles.

Lots of offerings to choose from. Save room for dessert, for sure! Interesting art hanging here, too. We had very good sandwich and salad combos.

To die for. French toast is like none other. Benedict is awesome. and the andouille sausage breakfast bowl was a hit with my husband. Seriously good service. Nothing sloppy, clean and fresh flowers. And great tea service too.

We had an excellent lunch here. Really good food and the French influence was a nice change from the rest of the NM meals

A friend and I enjoyed a delicious lunch and glass of well-priced wine the day after Thanksgiving. Gutiz was mobbed and probably somewhat under-staffed, so service was a little slow, but not awful. My friend had the grilled steak sandwich and I had a Croque Monsieur with an excellent salad on the side. Good value, nice people and great food.... More

The food at this cafe is amazing! This is my second time this year to visit this restaurant and I am equally as happy as the time before. Try the calamari & the drunken chicken! Today I ate the ham sandwich, yum!

Our hotel recommended this restaurant and we are glad they did. The food was delicious and the service was very good. I would definitely return.
