We go through Santa Rosa frequently and have stopped here several times. It is OK, but nothing special and so we plan to try some other places next time. We stopped in on a Saturday at 1:00pm. We wanted a local place. It will be our last visit. Wait Staff wasn't straight up rude - just indifferent and distant. 2 servers, a young man, 17-18 and 30ish woman had total of 4 tables. Slow, I mean s--l--o--w service. The food at the comet 2 restaurant is awesome. My favorite is the red chile...over anything! And the mucho burger is so big and juicy and delicious. If at some time you find yourself on Route 66 in Santa Rosa, NM...stop by and try some REAL Mexican food! more

When we check in to a hotel we usually ask the desk clerk for a resturant recomendation. This time I ask for a good "New Mexican" resturant. New Mexican food is different from regular Mexican in that New Mexican is cooked with chilies rather than peppers. It is also about 500 degrees warmer than regular Mexican food too.
