This is great place with fascinating atmosphere and has about the best green chile cheese burgers I have ever had.

This is an old-fashioned bar / diner that makes the best New Mexico green chili cheeseburger anywhere. The meat patty hangs over the bun & the whole thing is pretty greasy so you'll need lots of napkins but they're available. Finger-lickin' good & so are the onion rings! I never pass by here without stopping ...............

We had green chile cheeseburgers and they were great. Waitress's were very good and friendly. Great history...the bar belonged to Conrad Hilton....this apparently where his family started their empire.

We were there a week ago, after reading a review in a Santa Fe travel magazine. Almost missed it because the location in the article wasn't specific. The green chile cheeseburgers were good-sized with lots of semi-hot green chile. Onion rings were not home-made, but still good. The waitress wise-cracked but we were served promptly and efficiently. A lot more... More

I have heard for most of my life that the best green chile cheeseburgers are made here. I don't think so. Very greasy, *small* meat patty, so-so green chile. The french fries were OK. I think a green chile cheeseburger from Lota Burger (or even Sonic) is better.

Recently I was passing through San Antonio, NM. (You just pass through, this is no destination.) My client suggested we stop and have a green Chile cheese burger. This is the most unbelievable burger I have had in a long time. The flat iron from where it was cooked has been in use for over 40 years. So it is... More

We had tried the Buckhorn Tavern, across the road, a few years ago which competes with the Owl for status in the list of places with the best green chile burgers, so we decided to try this place. It is the area where Conrad Hilton was born and supposedly the bar is from the first Hilton hotel The burger ($5.99)... More

Stopped by on a whim while traveling and needing lunch. Noted they have green chili burgers on the menu. Since they are my weakness, I gave them a try along with a beer. Overall the establishment is the poster child for local desert bar. Kind of dark inside, it was a cool refuge from the heat. The expected locals were... More

I was driving through the area this past weekend and my wife and I decided to stop. We are huge fans of the Owl Cafe in Albuquerque so we figured we could check this off our "Bucket List" The only good thing about this visit was the service, and even then it was really really slow. The Hamburgers were over... More

I stopped in at the Owl Café on my way to the Albuquerque airport after visiting my family in T or C over the labor day weekend. It was recommended that I stop there for lunch to eat their famous "Green Chili Cheeseburger". This is a quaint old time bar that has a limited food menu with the cutest group... More
