Food was boring, the fries soggy, but the room was "colorful" and the service very friendly and attentive.

Stopped in on our way to Ruidoso. The place was packed but we still got in, ate and were out of there quickly. We had a BLT and green chili cheeseburger. Both were good and a decent price for a tourist stop.

Seems like every time I read about burger places you've got to go to I would run up against The Owl Bar. I finally got my shot on a trip to Santa Fe and I was not disappointed. Not only are the burgers just as promised but the onion rings were good too. Both nicely accompanied by a Modelo Negro.... More

From the outside, this place looks like a dive bar, but once inside you are met with warm, friendly staff and they serve awesome food! They are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and their burgers are to die for! Food was awesome!

During a recent visit to New Mexico the clerk at my hotel recommended this restaurant. She told me about the Green Chile Cheeseburger which I tried and liked and also bit about the history of the area. I found it very interesting that the scientists that successfully detonated the first atomic bomb in the nearby White Sands Missile Testing Range... More

my first visit to the Owl will be one of my top gastronomic experiences of my life. Let me say this was a perfect burger in every respect a perfect bun to meat ratio a superb loose patty and some of the most flavorful beef ever. The old timey feel and the nice old lady's only add to the experience... More

I always make a point of eating at the Owl Cafe when driving through San Antonio. They have wonderful green chile cheeseburgers that are served fast and hot, no matter how busy they are. The walls are full of personalized dollar bills that are put there by patrons and are entertaining to look at, but it is even better to... More

Great little hole in the wall. Great food.. the burgers and steak were outstanding! Just as you are leaving Bosque del Apache NWR Refuge you come to the Owl. Great place, great service, fun family atmosphere, bigger than it looks. A great stop after a long day outdoors. The burgers were excellent, best we had in the area. Messy and... More

Awesome Green Chile Cheese Burger. Good fries, wonderful fast service. I have visited this place numerous times and have always had a good meal. The history behind the bar/cafe is very interesting and a cool bit of history. Go check it out for yourself.

Stopped in after the Crane Festival as it seemed a few other photographers had the same idea. Convenient location right off of Interstate 25 and near the wildlife sanctuary. I had the best chili burger in New Mexico, the famous "owl burger", loaded with roasted green chili's, not chile sauce, lettuce and tomato and a pickle. It was as big... More
