Best food here in awhile!

We've eaten here many times over the years and food is always good, but the patty melt today was exceptional. Perfectly grilled, generous portions of meat, onions and green chile! Our server was extremely pleasant also. It was busier than I've seen it!

Being the same is a very good thing! Ate here for the first time in 30+ years and was worried that my nostalgic feelings for The Owl would be disappointed. Nothing could be further from the truth. The green chile cheeseburger was just as I remembered. Cooked to perfection and heaped with the amazing green chiles. It is still the... More

Fits the bill for a delicious green chili cheeseburger!! We planned our trip around lunch at The Owl and enjoyed a burger w. fries (fresh, not frozen!!) Nothing fancy but the food is excellent, the service efficient and friendly. Always enjoy our stop here.

I few months ago I drove through San Antonio hoping to try the Owl Bar, but it was closed by the time I arrived. So I had to settle for a burger at the Buckhorn. So this time I made sure it was open for lunch when I arrived on a weekday for a late lunch. As I did at... More

Found quite by happy accident once we realized the history behind this unassuming café. The Trinity site, where the first nuclear bomb was detonated, is close by and this Café frequented by the researchers; they identified themselves at the time as 'prospectors.' This business has a family history and can relate their ancestors to the civil war battle fought by... More

So my absolute favorite burger in this tiny town is the Buckhorn. But as a kid I ate at the Owl Bar with my grand parents and my parents so many times you can't count. The food is awesome the service is fast and the prices are great. It's an old fashioned Cheeseburger with amazing and hot green chile. Before... More

I stopped here recently on one of my motorcycle trips because I love hatch green chilis and heard they have a good green chili cheeseburger. It was very good, fries and onion rings just average. Very friend staff with excellent service.

I have been coming here almost every trip to Albuquerque from Las Cruces for most of my life, which is a long time. Always great green chile burgers with a nice slice of onion and tomato. Now top that off with a rum and coke and you are all set!

You likely already know about the Green Chile Cheeseburgers if you are reading this. Simply put, each time I eat one, I say "yep, that's the best burger I've ever eaten". Making them the same way since 1948. But do you know about the Beans and Chile? I've noticed many times that while travelers generally opt for the burgers (for... More
