We found this place had great reviews on Trip Advisor and Urbanspoon. We sat outside and enjoyed a delicious breakfast. The Spanish omelette was great. The staff were friendly and it appeared to be a local favorite.

Hadnt tried this place on our last visit to Ruidoso. The place we wanted to try is closed on Monday's, so decided to try Pena's. Glad we did, too. I usually try the places combination plate. It was really good. Enchilada was good and cheesy, the rellano was not too hot (someplaces leave the seeds & vein in). The taco... More

This is not a large place so it can fill quickly. We went on a Saturday early and sat outside. We enjoyed our pancakes and the Eggs Benedict (which is just offered on the weekend). We had good service and regularly checked for coffee refills. The owner is wonderful wood worker and has some of his work for sale -... More

Had late breakfast at this quaint restaurant over weekend. Huevos rancheros were ok, however the chicken tortilla soup not so ok. Was excited to see the broth had that wonderful NM red chile but the taste was flat and honestly a little fishy ??? I know, didn't make sense to me either. Last winter Peña's Place was our breakfast burrito... More

Go early, because seating is limited, but you won't regret it. Pancakes, burritos, omelettes are all fantastic. Also, very close to Story Book Cabins.

We saw Pena's Place on the way to our cabin and decided to try breakfast there. Seeing the Trip Advisor logo on the door, I knew we couldn't go wrong. Yum yum. The food was great with plenty to eat for the money and the service was good. The place may be small but well worth eating at. Thanks again,... More

This place continues to cook food that people love. They are small but that wants makes it a plus for customers to enjoy. If your near this place , come and sit awhile .

We go to Ruidoso quite frequently as it is only two hours from our home and Pena's is one of our favorite breakfast places. Although it is always busy on Saturday and Sunday mornings, they have an orderly seating process and the waitresses provide great service. My husband loves the pancakes and I like the huevos rancheros. I recommend Pena's... More

I had a breakfast burrito with sausage, egg, green chile and cheese, smothered red. It was delicious, and almost more than I could eat. Wife had a half-order of Eggs Benedict, and it was on par with any we've had anywhere else. All of the indoor furnishings are all professionally handcrafted from wood, not quite our style, but very attractive... More

My family of three ate here on a Saturday morning. It was really nice to be able to sit outside as the weather was gorgeous. My husband had the breakfast burrito and I had the western omelette (both with chorizo); they were good, but nothing special. The cinnamon roll was not good, but was big. The icing was lemon flavored--not... More
