My family ( total of 7) went to Ruidoso on Thanksgiving weekend. We had frequented Café Rio before and decided to go get some lunch on Saturday ( 11/29/14) while we did some shopping. Got to the restaurant at about 11:30 am and there was a waiting list to get seated. I signed in and proceeded to wait and wait.... More

The places has the best pizza ever, and if there is a wait it's so worth every minute. Not sure why any one would eat any where else. I eat here every year I go to ruidoso.

Awesome. Can't get any better. I'm not sure why anyone would eat any other pizza. Had lunch here on a recent trip. Best pizza I have had since ny.

The eggs benedict was good (not as good as Jimmy's) and the breads were good with just the egg breakfasts. The service was good and we ate outside by the river which was very nice. The biggest complaint is that another group ate upwind from us with a couple of dogs. The woman kept pulling hair out of the dog... More

The pizza at this medium-sized cafe was excellent, with a thin crust that's hand tossed right in front of you. The toppings are fresh, and they have root beer and sodas that are made right in Ruidoso, which is a nice change from typical fountain drinks. The atmosphere is interesting too, with upbeat 60s and 70s music, although it can... More

Best slice of pizza I've ever had is from here. I consider myself to be a pizza-lover, and it doesn't get better than this. From the warm, hand-tossed crust to the slightly greasy cheese and pepperoni, it's perfect. Not to mention a slice is equivalent to the size of 3 slices anywhere else. They're huge. I order two slices and... More

Cafe Rio was packed and they were waiting to seat a party of 17 (all before 12:30). This tells you how great their pies are. Since our hearts were set on delicious pizza, we decided carry out was our best bet. We ordered a 12" pepperoni, onion and mushroom pie. Cafe Rio said it would be ready in 15-20 minutes.... More

This place has excellent pizza! The menu on trip advisor is all wrong, though. Had we not gone by the restaurant earlier in the day and smelled the fantastic aroma of the pizza we would have gone to the restaurant with a completely different menu expectation. As with any good restaurant you will have to wait and the only waiting... More

Called ahead to check hours and the guy was so rude on the phone. We went to the restaurant with our disabled child who needed easy access and the waitress at the counter said you have to sit at a table for 4. I told her we can't and she snapped at me "why?" So we did not get to... More
