Taste of New York Italian

This is hand-to-the goddess of wine the best Italian food in New Mexico. The recipes are straight from Sicily by way of New York. Excellent renderings of chicken, seafood, and dressings. The overall experience has a way to go in terms of decor and customer service, but otherwise a great place... read more

We hadn't been to Portofino's since their move from Main Street but decided it was time to have an Italian lunch. The prices were reasonable, the restaurant quiet, most of the music was Italian, and though in a converted Pizza Hut, the decor was pleasant. I had the eggplant parmesan with a side salad (the grated cheese was a nice... More

The food, atmosphere and servers were wonderful. There was more than enough food on each plate. We were a party of four and everyone was more than pleased. Great prices too.

It's an old Pizza Hut building. The decor inside is terrible. It was almost empty at 4pm, there were two other tables with people. That should have told us something. The salad was good, the bread a bit dry and burned, probably re-heated. We ordered the Chicken Parmesan, which consists of a breaded chicken patty, probably frozen from a bag,... More

Their chef salad was by far one of the best I've had anywhere. My two friends and I stopped here for a bite, there were no complaints from anyone.

And no, I won't even go to an Olive Garden. I come from Newyawk! It's hard to find good, real Italian food in the Southwest. It's really hard to find good, real Italian in Roswell, but this is as good as it can get. Lunchtime is busy but your best bet for getting what you want--salads are very generous and... More

Everyone raved about the place but they haven't had good food anywhere. Probably think Olive Garden is fine dining. Surly staff. Used to be a Pizza Hut. Carded my 27-year old novio. How immature of THEM!

We looked at the couple of other Italian restaurants in Roswell and decided on Portifinos. We were genuinely pleased! My advice, go before 4pm to enjoy the lunch specials. They're $7.99 and with soup or salad, not to mention the fresh baked bread and olive oil dip. Soup was a cream of mushroom w/ chicken. We went with the salad.... More

We had not eaten here in while so we decided to have Italian. The crab bisque was delicious and the spinach salad was excellent. The lasagna portion was huge. The restaurant was very clean which always makes the meal better. If you are looking for Italian, try here.
