I ordered lasagna which was excellent and my wife ordered chicken parmesan which was equally good. Restaurant appears to be sited in a renovated Pizza Hut, but no effort has been made to create the feel of an Italian restaurant. Great place to go if you are hungry for good Italian, but not the place to take a date.

I'm a Jersey Girl so Italian food is extremely important to me. Rather, it being done right is important to me and this by far is the best Italian food I've had in New Mexico! That being said, we almost walked out when we first arrived. The venue is terrible. The place looks to be a renovated Pizza Hut where... More

Was pleaseantly surprised! I only had a short amount of time to spare. The food was hot and ready! It was surprisingly tasty despite the simplicity of its environment. Luxurious food for the casual connoisseur!!

We arrived and were seated immediately. It took a little while for our waitress to come and take our drink order. We ordered an appetizer and our food at the same time as our drinks since it took so long for them to take our drink order. They brought our food quickly but never brought our appetizer. I thought the... More

We were driving from Amarillo TX to Ruidoso NM got hungry and decided to stop in Roswell for dinner. The restaurant was not very busy so we were seated quickly and served our drinks with bread. The menu is basic and somewhat limited but as expected for this area. The food came after a short wait and was tasty but... More

Walked in with no greeting, waitress only has one other table so we figured we would be taking care of quick sadly that was not the case. The girl took our drink order then never came back. Two other older white couples came in and had drinks and bread before us. Now being a mix race couple I was not... More

On revisiting Roswell for my 50th High School Reunion, our motel was in the midst of many national chain restaurants. My wife and I decided we could go to any of these at home, so we asked the desk person for a recommendation for an Italian restaurant in the town. It was her favorite, Portofino. We both had veal offerings:... More

As for the food, this is the best Italian restaurant in town. However, the atmosphere is lacking. The building is an old Pizza Hut and not much has changed. The pasta with the spicy red sauce is great as well as the green chile lasagna.
