Best Posole

On our recent visit to New Mexico our friends took us here. It is their favorite restaurant and I understand why, the food is great. The chips and salsa were fresh. I had Pasole with tamale. It was a great combination that came with red salsa on the side which I added sparingly. The prices... read more

Hot Tamales has become a well established eatery. With a very nice selection and friendly staff they will meet or exceed your expectations, Easy access for those traveling through the area via the Pat De Arco Highway part of route 66.

When my wife has been out-of-town for a week or more, this is usually where we go for breakfast Sunday morning. They have a wide variety of choices for New Mexican (not Mexican) food along with some choices for us gringos. Their red and green chili is excellent although I recommend starting with a little bit to see if it's... More

I'd tell you about the other items on the menu, but I ALWAYS get the Navajo Tacos. Crisp, not greasy fried taco on the bottom, spiced ground beef with lettuce, tomato and your choice of red or green on top. I can never finish it and it warms up nicely in the oven a day or so later.

First let me say the Green Chili Stew was excellent, but other then that, I would classify the rest of the meal as Taco Bell style food, and a lot more expensive. Chips $ sausa tasted like they were straight off a Walmart shelve. Everything tasted premade and defrosted.

The food is not bad, but nothing special, especially for New Mexico. My friend and I got completely different combos, but after it came smothered in sauce, I don't think we could have told the difference in the tow dishes. Sort of bland and not too authentic. There are more authentic and tastier Mexican food restaurants in the Albuquerque area.

I love this local place. It's not fancy or large, but I love the simple touches to the basic square dining room. The lovely graduated color of the walls. The simple lighted nichos. But the food. Yum, the food. We mostly go for breakfast or lunch. They have, hands down, my favorite breakfast ever. The food is good, the green... More

Just off the major highway through Rio Rancho NM sits Hot Tomales serving Mexican food. The parking lot is well positioned and access makes it easy to come and go. If you are looking for a quick meal and are not picky about authenticity of your Mexican food then you will be happy. Having spent more then 45 years traveling... More

I've been to the fancy places, the chains, the Mom and Pops restaurants. This Mexican food restaurant has wonderful food. Everything, every time is great. The green chile sauce can just be eaten with chips. The Posole bowl with onions, a tamale and cilantro tops my nights. My favorite is their Tres Amigos: three burritos on one plate covered in... This local New Mexican restaurant has excellent food and excellent wait staff. The food is very good and a great value. Sopapillas are very good. Green chile is SPICY! Order it on the side if you are not sure.
