We were hesitant after reading reviews but our meal was excellent. Hard to beat a good Burger and a nice crisp Wedge Salad. I commented to the Gentleman in charge about the unkind reviews and he said some were deserved but he was in the process of turning things around in his brief time there. I suggest people give this... More

Excellent pub food choices here, with a little touch of England and New York! There is a wide variety of food and grog, with a good kid's menu as well. From fried, to broiled to baked, the Squirrel brings a little bit o' England to Rio Rancho.

FSR is a great place for work lunch meeting or event. Our family has enjoyed eating there as well. We especially like when they hosted Rockies

I come to Rio Rancho a couple times per year and I rate their corned beef and cabbage to be better than most I've had in New York, Ireland or England. Tender and very well prepared

My husband had had the fish & chips here once before and raved about how good it was. I don't know if this place is under new ownership, management or a new cook since he ate here last, but we did not have the same experience. The fish portions were a nice size, but really had no flavor. The fries... More

This restaurant is very nice to look at. Clean, spacious, nice atmosphere. We decided on the Monte Cristo sandwiches. They were dipped in beer batter, and deep-fried to within a hair of being a brick. The cheeses had melted out completely. The meats were skimpy and burned on the edges. We were tired from traveling and so just pried the... More

Do you know what Americans traveling abroad say about English food? It's bland, greasy, and overcooked. Unfortunately the Fat Squirrel reproduces those undesirable aspects of English cuisine on a regular basis. It's too bad, because on first impression, the Fat Squirrel looks like a fun place. There are tons of different beers on tap and the bar patrons look as... More

We had terrible service. The waiter did not return to our table until he brought the check. They do not serve mixed drinks just beer and wine. The fish was dry and the fries just were not good. We live 10 minutes from this pub and will not be returning.

Fat Squirrel Pub has the best Fish and Chips....I am not really a fish and chip person but we always seem to get an order whenever we go. They also have good rueben and monte cristo sandwiches. Open bar area...can accommodate a large group or you may be sitting with several others (a chance to make new friends:))

The fist & chips are really good - which is saying a lot with no ocean nearby. Don't miss the sweet potato fries!
