Had lunch here on a Wednesday afternoon. Very old building and modest settings. Seated quickly and efficiently. Ordered the carne adovada burrito with green chile sauce and was expecting another predictable Mexican food meal. Took the first bite and Wow what a taste. Spicy hot enough to be interesting and very full of flavor. Adovada pork tasted of a marinade... More

We enjoyed our meal. The building is very old, and has some neat historical features. The food was very tasty, and the meals were served with sopapillas. Ask for honey to eat on them! They do not serve chips and salsa for free with meals, and they do not have any alcoholic drinks, so no margaritas. However, the salsa was... More

This place is an AMAZING local hot spot. The inside looks like a home, so its very intimate. Outdoor seating during the warm seasons is great! Its always hard to decide between the Blue Corn Carne Adovada Enchiladas that come with a HUGE sopapilla on the side, or the Chicken Broccoli Mushroom Alfredo with garlic bread! There's something for everyone... More

This nice place to eat is located in the St Francis Plaza Ranchos de Taos, not far from the famous San Francisco de Asis Church. The church is one of the most photographed churches in the United States. The plaza dates back to the 1700's. The restaurant is in a very old adobe hacienda. There are several colorful dining areas... More

I have been to this restaurant several times in the last year and the food is consistently great. From the rellenos to the stacked enchiladas to the carne' adovada the entrees are well prepared and brought to the table piping hot. There are many Mexican restaurants in this area and it's very hard to try the others as this one... More

I stopped early one Sunday morning in June to photograph the historic San Francisco de Asis Church in the small village of Ranchos de Taos. My wife and I then walked across the plaza to try the Ranchos Plaza Grill for breakfast. Our efficient waiter made us feel welcome. We had savory breakfast burritos served on the patio. The Grill... This is some of the finest New Mexican food you will ever find. Ranchos is a family restaurant with a family atmosphere (no alcohol). Service is quick and efficient (they run between kitchen and dining room). You are made to feel welcome. The tacos feature a large helping of shredded (not ground) beef, perfectly spiced. Their chili uses caribe peppers... More

We are Taos locals and visit this restaurant at least once a week. We have known to hit a record of 4 times a week. The main reasons: extremely consistent food quality, great service, very congenial and genuine staff that cares and after a while will know you and greet you by name. They manage to keep loyal staff and... More

This is my wife's and my favorite restaurant. I can honestly say I've never had better food in my whole life. We live in Denver now, and sometimes we'll make the trip down to Taos just to eat here, seriously, it's that good! Definitely try the red chile.
