On our last trip to Taos, my wife and I made reservations to spend the first night of our anniversary weekend at a restaurant we have enjoyed on many occasions in the past. We have always been willing to spend the higher prices of the Trading Post knowing we were going to get a meal to remember. I am sorry... More

This was the only disappointment during an otherwise wonderful visit to Taos and New Mexico. I am not sure if our server was inexperienced or just having a bad night (or just decided she did not like us), but in any event, her behavior was not acceptable at all. We strive to be good customers and understanding, but when you... More

We ate here based on their rating but were disappointed in our meal. After asking questions about the menu choices, I settled on the chicken picatta. The meal not at all what I was expecting based on the description I was given. I will say that the service was good and the house wine was quite good for the price.

A world famous chef and educator at Johnson and Wales ( a renown cooking school) prepares some of the best food I have ever eaten. It is equivalent to meals we have had in New York City or London , Paris or Rome! What this eatery is doing in Taos is any bodies guess. But since we come here often... More

This is not the Olive Garden... The food is made fresh and is not what I would consider the traditional Italian fare. It does have a good variety and the meal was very good. A little pricy for some people but I would say it is more towards fine dining but not pretentious. My meal ran about thirty dollars for... More

Great menu and food, wonderful atmosphere and service. We had the portobello ravioli and the Capreze salad with asparagus and fried avocado to which I added grilled tuna. Excellent!

Looks can be deceiving - from the outside, this looks like an old roadhouse. Inside, there are white tablecloths and fine dining. We began with a shared Calamari appetizer that included a small Caesar salad - great calamari (a tad too much dressing on the salad). The Half Duck was moist and plenty for two and the sauce was excellent!... More

I discovered the Trading Post Cafe back when I first moved to New Mexico in 1996. This restaurant was one of the best places I have eaten in New Mexico, and continues to be my favorite dining spot when visiting the Taos area. Although I have eaten there many times in the past for dinner, this was my first visit... More

The Trading Post Cafe has been in business for decades. You don't stay in business that long without doing many things right. Currently, Chef Patou Hours heads up a kitchen that serves up first rate food - it is organic in the best sense of that word. When you dine here take a moment to look around to see how... More
