We were in town for the 2014 Balloon Fiesta back in October. In the house we rented we had a menu and we decided to check it out - you always want to go to places that are not at home! We were a large party of 6 and seated immediately. I believe Mike was our host. He took our... More

On highway 165 about 15 minutes from the Santa Ana Casino in Bernalillo, NM, my husband and I have a marvelous experience at the Placitas Café. I was so excited to have a variety of vegetarian choses. I had a vegetarian, portabella mushroom burger that was amazing and so filling I took half home with me. We had chili cheese... More

All we wanted was a decent meal before a concert, quick and good. We got a full experience, great service, delicious food at a very reasonable price. This place is a gem! I ordered Leslie soup. It was chock full of fresh vegetables, spinach, mushrooms, red pepper, potatoes, pinto beans, filling and yummy. My husband had the buffalo enchiladas, because... More

This place is a diamond in the rough. The food is good, the service is great, and a good location right off I-25. For dessert, don't forget to order the Buttermilk Pie. It just made my day. Will be returning for sure!

This family run café in Placitas, New Mexico, is a treasure. Once we discovered it, we ate dinner there several times on a recent vacation to the Albuquerque area. What a find! The food was excellent--well-prepared and well-seasoned. The service was prompt; the staff was friendly and welcoming. We'll return again the next time we're in Albuquerque.

We stopped in on a whim and are we ever glad we did! I had one of the BEST burgers ever (ground sirloin, no less) and my husband enjoyed their special of pulled pork. Try the onion rings--also some of the best ever. We inhaled a slice of their scrumptious, delectable buttermilk pie for dessert. What topped it all off... More

I just read a review that said "surprisingly mediocre" and I agree 100%. I wanted to love this locally owned independent restaurant but the service was so-so and the food wasn't all that great, either. I ordered a ground beef hash. This is what it was: A torn up hamburger on top of cubed potatoes with a side of salsa.... More

After reading so many complimentary reviews of Placitas Cafe, we decided to try it for dinner. The meal was, at best, very mediocre. To sum it up, our dinner entrees were not tasty or flavorful nor did they have any other redeeming qualities. Bland, sort of like what I remember junior high school lunch in the cafeteria to be like.... More

Unless you are a local, chances are you will be ignored when you enter the dining room. This happened to me on both occasions I went there. Second time and after waiting several minutes, I finally walked out and have never returned. The food is mediocre at best.
