Food good, service frustratingly slo!

My sister-in-law loves this restaurant, and the food is consistently good. We were in town week end of July 11th and went there again. My husband and I both ordered the local steak and frittes and our waiter graciously added the truffle Parmesan to mine. Delish! The dish of the ribs looked... read more

My wife I and 4 of our friends visited Blades last weekend. We were excited to try it based on the reviews and menu, but every one of us was disappointed. To start, the restaurant lost our order. Now that happens sometimes, but one would think the waiter would notice that it had been over 45 minutes since we had... More

Ok......I have tried this place twice now......last year and last night. I will NOT go again! Terrible service, which I blame on management! Food not so hot except for a good iceberg wedge..... Save your money......suggest you go someplace else

A few of us went to Blades for dinner and to see a featured band. From the start it was dicey. The service by a giggling waiter was lacking and slow. Ran out of a wine we were ordering. Salmon dish overdone. Talked to one of the owners to find out that they were shorthanded that evening. This should not... More

We recently decided to try Blades Bistro after hearing locals rave about it and noticing the number of cars in front, indicating its popularity. The restaurant is attractively-decorated and loud with the friendly chatter of a full house. I will not say anything negative about the food as it certainly was very good. But there comes a point when the... More

We were a party of five out to celebrate a belated Fathers Day. Outstanding dishes were the Paella, their award-winning sea food plate, lamb chops and caesars salad. The appetizers we picked were less impressive, with the coconut shrimp being too sweet and heavy on the coconut. I liked their wine prices- on Wednesdays all wines are priced $25. The... More

Food was ok but not outstanding and a bit overpriced. Atmosphere is good and has outside dining and a view of Sandias

Blades is a local gem for those of us fortunate to live close by! The food prepared by Chef Kevin is always scrumptious! Last night we had the BEST prime rib, prepared perfectly, and always served with the best service. Wine is always a treat for us and Anja does a wonderful job with a wine list that goes well... An added bonus to dining at Blade's is in taking the short drive up to Placitas which always gives the feeling of escaping from citification and especially if you take St.Rd. 313 (Old Camino Real/Rte. 66 (pre 1937)) through Sandia. In any event, went to have one of my FAVs, the Beef Wellington (one of this weekend's Specials) this time... More

The service, food and atmosphere of Blades are consistently excellent. We have eaten there dozens of times over the past few years and have always had delicious food and a very nice time. I'm a bit confused about reviews of burned meat and poorly cooked vegetables. Chef has routinely made my steaks a proper medium-rare and the vegetables are correctly... More
