We went with another couple and 3 of us had good to very good meals. The duck confit salad was dissapointing. The arugula was just in a tangled mass and the duck was without flavor. We were very impressed with our dining experience at Blades Bistro last night. The staff members were friendly and clearly wanted to make sure we enjoyed ourselves. It was apparent that Blades has regulars that come in frequently, and I don't blame them. The food, ambiance and staff would make me a regular if I lived nearby. We enjoyed the... More

I had given up on Blades Bistro after my last experience with them but our friends seem to think they can overlook the numerous times Blades has failed to deliver the service and customer relations required of a restaurant in the class that they aspire to. We had reservations, made on Open Table, for 6 people at 7pm, New Years... More

Yesterday I just wanted to try a new place, so we ended up at blades bistro. This place was great! Everything I ordered was better than I expected and for the first time in awhile I loved my entire restaurant experience. The menu is on the expensive side, but once you taste the quality of the food made it worthwhile.

Tucked away in a modest Placitas shopping center on the shoulder of the Sandia Mountains, Blades is simply one of the best restaurants in New Mexico. For Kevin & Anja Bladergroen, Blades is a labor of love, with a special Dutch touch, and they love sharing it with their patrons. The dining is international bistro at its best: honest dishes... With the exception of an over salted entrée, the meal and service were perfect. Grown up atmosphere. We were greeted warmly by the staff and seated promptly. Our server was friendly, knowledgeable and checked on us frequently. I was offered a taste of the wine we were considering. The peach caprese salad was wonderful and we sat between 2 tables... More

Blades Bistro is a gem of a restaurant in bucolic Placitas. It provides a marvelously varied menu with exciting specials. The Watermelon Gazpacho and the Peach Caprese salad were both flavorful and unique. Peaches rather than tomatoes provided a taste sensation that worked very well, since they were melt in your mouth ripe and sweet with a very delicious peachy... More

An average restaurant that has the potential with some adjustments to be great. Your first impression as you arrive from the hostess is that she is not quite sure she is happy to see you. This combined with an overly hot restaurant did not give a first good impression and also an impression of not really caring. The kitchen is... More

Blade's is very good, but would not classify as great. For a local restaurant, it's pretty good. Price is OK, not over the top. Service has been variable on our two trips here...once terrible (the waitress was a real ditz): the most recent time, our waiter was good, but ran another table's bill instead of ours. Worth a visit if... More
