Pie-O-Neer is right out of “Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance”. The pies are wonderful (also try the green chili stew and the turkey, avocado and Swiss grilled Panini on sourdough.) Located a few miles off the Continental Divide, at nearly 8000 feet above sea level and voted “Best in the West” by Cowboys and Indians magazine, Pie-O-Neer is... More

Don't blink your eyes while driving through Pie Town, NM, or you will miss the Pie-O-Neer Cafe -- and if you like pie, you certainly don't want to miss this cafe! It is a rustic and homey little cafe with a small adjoining gallery, all heated by an old fashioned wood stove. We were there for a writers' workshop, and... More

On a long stretch of US 60, this is THE place to pull over for refreshments. Enthusiastic Kathy, the owner, will be glad to give you a 'private tour' of fragrant racks of her pies of the day and ham it up for pictures. Kids of all ages will love the old country store atmosphere and the display of obviously... More

We made it into Pietown late afternoon on the 4th after traveling across New Mexixo seeing the sites on our way home to Phoenix. Decided to stop in for a piece of pie and a stretch and got lucky, they still had some pie left. I had Cherry and my son had the Pecan Oat and his friend had the... More

Walking up the front porch steps, you know it's going to be good. Read some history before going in and inside there are displayed articles on walls and albums. Pot bellied stove in the front, and some NM art and items for sale. Booths and tables are nice, but sit at the front counter to meet locals, waitresses, owners, and... More

This was our first stop in New Mexico while touring the southern part of the state on our recent vacation. Having read about this cafe I had to stop. I love a great dessert place. We came from Arizona via Highway 60, a lonely desolate road that travels through mostly ranch lands. Pietown is not much of a town; there... More

Great old building, easy country atmosphere, friendly and professional folks running it, small but up-to-date and varied menu, and always a selection of excellent pies. If you want a special flavor of pie, be sure to call ahead, to find out when it will be out of the oven and ready to eat. Easy place to get into a conversation... More

we stopped in at the Pie-o-neer in early april late in the afternoon on a friday (after 4pm) Kathy was kind enough to re-open for us (they normally close at 4pm) - the hospitality and the pies were second to none. by far - the best pies I have had anywhere (don't tell my wife). we are already planning a... For three hundred miles, I'd been telling my girlfriend about the best pies in the universe. We arrived at the Pie-o-neer at 10:30 am. Instead of waiting a half hour for the front door to open, I barged into the kitchen hoping for a miracle. Initially, it seemed all the fresh pies were still in the oven and wouldn't be... More
