Need I say more? The atmosphere was trendy mixed with western, the service was phenomenal, and the carrot cake was honestly the best carrot cake I've ever had - the perfect blend of moist and richness, with tons of actual carrot flakes in it. Definitely made that morning from scratch and then sat on the plate for a very short... More

Driving to Taos from Santa Fe we stopped at Sugar Nymphs Bistro. My wife and I both ordered a Grilled Cheese with a few extra along with a bean soup. For a hole in the wall location, it was so far beyond expectation is was not funny. Oh yeh, this was a hidden gem that I am sure hundreds go... More

Out of the way on the high road to Taos, but worth the stop. Nice little porch to sit out on in good weather. Inside is small and cozy. Food was good and a nice variety to the menu. Was with a large group and the service was attentive and friendly. Dishes came out hot and were very good. Plan... More

When we decided to go to Taos Pueblo from Santa Fe, our friends told us to take the high road and stop by Peñasco to eat lunch at the Sugar Nymphs Cafe. It sounded intriguing and they swore it was delicious. It was. On both counts. The restaurant shares the building with a theater, which is very active, especially in... More

Definitely consider this place for lunch if you are taking the high road to Taos. We missed this place by about 15 minutes so couldn’t comment much on the food except for the carrot cake and scones. There were still a few diners there close to 3pm. The outside of the restaurant is decorated with paintings. The carrot cake was... More

Service was slow.... one waiter..... very busy for lunch.... we ate at 1:15pm Green hatch chile cheeseburger was a WOW!... 10 on a scale of 10 We'd do it again...... More

We stopped here for lunch on the way to Taos. Burgers were excellent, very tasty but the service although very friendly was extremely slow. May be it is just the local slow life style. Cakes looked great and tempting.

This was by far the best food we had on our trip to New Mexico. We ate at a lot of restaurants in Taos and Santa Fe and this was the best. The food is authentic , the atmosphere is unique, and the service was over the top. I haven't mentioned the carrot cake -- the biggest slice ever -... More

No other words can describe the food, the atmosphere and the wonderful ladies who work here. FABULOUS! All 6 of our party are still talking about the delicious meal we ate there. Make it a point to go by this restaurant at mealtime! You will not regret it.

We took a day trip from Santa Fe to Taos along the high road...a beautiful easy drive with great views of the valley and surrounding mountains. We had read about this funky little restaurant and so were intrigued to stop for a late lunch. I had the best grilled cheese sandwich ever.. oozing with 3 different cheeses and a wonderful,... More
