Top notch ingredients cooked perfectly

I had a most wonderful lunch here yesterday with 4 friends. We all ordered sandwiches and at the end of our meal all plates were clean. I ordered the chicken breast BLT sandwich with a side salad and "gingerade". The sandwich was on a house baked roll, light and flaky, the chicken was pounded a... read more

I ordered the chicken breast BLT sandwich with a side salad and "gingerade". The sandwich was on a house baked roll, light and flaky, the chicken was pounded a little thin so that it... More

This bistro was a recommendation of our inn keepers in Santa Fe - they said it is a real find. We were delighted and thoroughly enjoyed the featured soup which was corn chowder that thankfully was vegetarian friendly since one of our party was a vegetarian that eats fish. We shared the bean burger and it was delicious. We were... More

Lovely spot with great Norteno character. The brunch food is better than anywhere in Taos or Santa Fe, especially the value. Magical strawberry scones the day we went. But the service has a way to go to match quality of food. Its a small restaurant and why 4 workers in the front of the house could not get us coffee... More

I realized long ago that my favorite dining experience is not dining at some incredible, chef driven, hyper inventive, urban den of gastronomy, but rather stumbling upon some un pretentious, textured (maybe rough at the edges), unique and delicious place in a totally out of the way location…maybe in the middle of nowhere. This is Sugar Nymphs in Penasco. Penasco... More

This is an excellent stop on the high road to Taos. We found this place a year ago and definitely wanted to return this year. The food is fresh, creative and tasty. The grilled cheese with green chili, carmelized onion, and mushrooms is delicious as is the BLT both served with an excellent side salad. Sadly we did not have... More

If you drive down the main street of Penasco you can't miss the restaurant called Sugar Nymphs, owned and run by two very nice ladies. We arrived early (it doesn't open until 5) and were seated by a very nice waitress. The food was very well prepared but was a little pricey for what you got. One thing we noticed... More

It would be easy to drive right past, but you'd be missing out. We were there for lunch. The menu is pretty much versions of grilled cheese or burgers. I think there might have been something New Mexican as well. I had a flavorful bean soup and an amazing grilled cheese with carmelized onions and green chiles on what must... More

My husband and I were traveling from Santa Fe to Taos on the High Road and the concierge at our hotel recommended this gem for lunch and I confirmed the recommendation on Trip Advisor! When we arrived, we both hesitated before entering this funky, hole-in-the-wall but wow...the food was delicious! I had the Moma Mia, a veggie grilled sandwich, and... More

Need I say more? The atmosphere was trendy mixed with western, the service was phenomenal, and the carrot cake was honestly the best carrot cake I've ever had - the perfect blend of moist and richness, with tons of actual carrot flakes in it. Definitely made that morning from scratch and then sat on the plate for a very short... More

Driving to Taos from Santa Fe we stopped at Sugar Nymphs Bistro. My wife and I both ordered a Grilled Cheese with a few extra along with a bean soup. For a hole in the wall location, it was so far beyond expectation is was not funny. Oh yeh, this was a hidden gem that I am sure hundreds go... More
