Ate lunch here with a group of 10. Service was fine, a bit slow at first, but good. Decor is interesting and he building is old but well maintained. The cucumber jalapeño margarita was ok, but not spectacular. The la posta combination platter was good- I had an ice cream scope of guacamole and some green chili queso- good and... More

The restaurant has a interesting historic legacy. Unfortunately, when we were here several years ago we thought the food was much better. This time the service was excellent and friendly however the food was only average.

We enjoyed the food here, but to us it wasn't any better than Mexican food we had had elsewhere. This restaurant was written up in US News and was pushed as the best in the U.S. We still have one in Oregon that we like best (Si Casa Flores) and haven't been able to find anything to compare to it... La Posta used to have the BEST chile rellanos anywhere, but that's not the case anymore. The food was just okay. The destination, the location, the adobe building, that's what makes this a must see for visitors. Anyone who wants a feel for the Southwest and the old plaza will love La Posta. A trip around the plaza square is... More

Great atmosphere in a historic building in old Mesilla. Good food, I loved the green chili and my husband loved the fajitas.

a group of 12 had lunch at la posta on labor day--I called about an hour before we planned to meet--there was a big crowd, due to it being a holiday, but our table was ready when we arrived--our server was super--no issue with all the separate tickets, nor was a gratuity added--everyone was pleased with the quality/quantity of their... The wait to get a seat was worth it! Got seated and with seconds our waitstaff was bringing us chips and salsa and getting drink orders. Food was fantastic. True Mexican cuisine. Very good food. But the tag team servers took the prize this night. Daughter and dad duo Andrea and john were just awesome!!! Loved this place!!

Expectations may have been too high - but we were all disappointed in our meals and our drinks. All were just "bland". We left unfulfilled

Since we've been in Historic Old Mesilla, we try to come back once in a while. And as always we go to La Posta for the good Mexican food. My Chile Relleno were good, but I've had them better, I admit. As dessert I would recommend the Tres Leches! The atmosphere is fantastic. Nicely decorated (a huge aviary with parrots... More

Growing up in the area, La Posta was the place you took visitors for some authentic New Mexican cuisine in a beautiful place which satisfied eyes and bellies. With many family member together for an impromptu August visit, we decided to revist the greatness of what used to be this Old Mesilla landmark. We called ahead for our large party... More
