STEAKS!!!

Wow! What a steak dinner! I thoroughly enjoyed the food and atmosphere. The price was a bit steep, but the food was Oh so good! If you want to splurge on a meal and desire a well-cooked steak, this is your place!

We have been to dinner here multiple times, some times the steak is great and others it is average. The price is quite high for the amount of food and flavor of meat. We also tried the champagne brunch, would not go back. It was taste, but nothing special for $27 pp.

We opted to dine here instead of the sister restaurant, Peppers. We were very happy with the decision. We ordered a bottle of wine, which was very reasonably priced. In fact, we liked the wine so much that we contacted the winery in Napa to determine if we could order directly - unfortunately, even the winery has sold all of... More

traveling west, stopped in Las cruces on 12/30. Went to explore and decided to have our New Year's Eve splurge here ( a day early). The meal was expensive, but worth every penny. The waiter was trained to work in an upscale place, but was friendly, and helpful without being pushy. The building is a very old, elegantly refurbished place...just... More

While the Double Eagle is a nice choice in terms of food and atmosphere, the staff is completely unorganized. I called and made two reservations two days ahead of time, and they lost both of them. Rather uncomfortable to show up and expect to be seated in the dining room and instead seated in a completely separate area and have... More

We went on Valentine's Day - without a reservation. We were told there would be a 25 minute wait but since we had been here 15 years ago we wanted to wait. Well worth it - but we only waited a bit over 10 minutes in a beautiful lounge area. This is a beautiful old house with a fantastic courtyard.... More

Good food, nice atmo. Pricey yet elegant and well prepared. The service is awkward at best. It's supposed to be homey but the waitress tells off color jokes and does tricks. She works it hard and wins awards for it. Good for her. Not my style nor my thing, but may be yours. Aged steaks and great brunch and the... More

The TA reviews appear to be about Double Eagle, but many are really about Peppers, which has a separate menu and is in a separate room sharing the same building and same bar offerings. Very confusing. We wanted Peppers but almost wound up steered to the more expensive steakhouse, Double Eagle, by the officious guy on the reservation line. Fortunately,... More

If you are ever in Las Cruces check out the Double Eagle! Great food and service in a beautiful setting! The wine selection is also very good! Check out the bananas foster , prepared table side. It was wonderful!

The Double Eagle is a nice, historic restaurant which normally serves great food. We've had a lot of meals here, and we enjoy going to their Sunday brunch with friends. Until our last visit. First off, the waitstaff is attentive and does a wonderful job. This visit we ordered our usual "Mimosa's", which is a Champagne and orange juice cocktail.... More
