From the outside it does not look much, but step inside it is like a different world. The decor is worth a visit, and the food is great. This is a high end steak house, and the bill will reflect that fact. Perfect place for a special dinner.

If you are driving down I-10 near Las Cruses, it is worth a short drive to Mesilla to this unique restaurant. The place itself if worth a stop but the food is also quite good, with a surprisingly large menu and a bar straight out of the old west. Service can sometimes be a bit spotty, especially if is a... For chip and drink refills had to see the hostess to get service. Not once but twice! And not once did the original waitress see if we doing fine! I guess her mentality is if party is big, she gets automatic tip for the persons seated ! I'm still sitting at table fuming how it seems no one in establishment... More

We were here in June 2014 and enjoyed our experience tremendously. Nice atmosphere, good service and steaks that were tender, juicy and cooked to perfection. We ordered Chateaubriand for 2 and the steaks were excellent and the sides were delicious also: stuffed tomatoes, potatoes and vegetables. Saturday night bonus- 1/2 price bottled wines.

We stopped in for drinks when a quick rain shower came through the area. This place is MUCH bigger than it looks from the outside. It has multiple rooms and is beautiful. When you first walk in, there's a bar on the left and a few sitting areas on your right. We ordered one of their special margaritas. Very good... More

We went on father's day (June 16, 2014) and they ran out of food, our servers were not responsive, the plates were dirty and some of the food was not cooked enough. Would not go back there again.

Also right on the Plaza in Mesilla, double Eagle looks very small from the street is is quite large inside. All the rooms open open onto the courtyard, which is also a bright sunny dining room. Food is very good, but a bit over-priced in my opinion. Service is quick and servers are friendly.

Double Eagle has been a long standing great steak place. They serve great drinks. The service is always good. The only reason I did not give it a 5 is due to the price. They are a bit pricey. Not unreasonable for a night out. But just for dinner a bit high.

A well known place with two restaurants inside, Double Eagle is the more formal version, Peppers the more casual choice. The food was delicious, the service excellent. The building has been in Mesilla since 1870;s and made into a restaurant in the 1960;s. Dine with chandeliers overhead, a gold plated ceiling...soft music. A formal treat.

My husband made reservations for 8 and the table was ready when we arrived. The green chile infused Bloody Mary was delicious! Food and service was good and we will be back.
