Some friends who recently retired to Las Cruces, took us to this restaurant. They had been there for a dinner which they raved about as one of their top ten meals ever. I thought the brunch was truly outstanding. A large back room was setup as the buffet station. There was a large round table of lunch type items to... More

We were walking around the square in Mesilla and smelled wonderful Mexican cooking. We asked one of the store owners where the smell was coming from and they directed us to the Double Eagle. The restaurant looks great, an old fashioned bar with chandeliers and we ate in the covered courtyard. Service was good and we ordered cheese enchiladas and... More

We went to celebrate a birthday. The server was flaky, forgot the birthday girl's appetizer, and never came back to the table until entrees were being served. The food was mediocre in my opinion but the rest of my family really enjoyed it, especially the desert course. It may be that I just don't understand the concept the management is... More

Went here for birthday dinner with spouse. Had a $50 coupon from restaurant.com. Ordered steaks and a bottle of wine. After dinner, we asked if there was anything for a birthday celebration (we told them when making the reservation that it was a birthday)? Waiter said, any desert on the menu is complementary on your birthday. After desert, he brought... More

Since when does going into an establishment that feels and smells (especially the bar/restroom area) of mildew and air fresher add to a dining experience. I have eaten here over the years as a guest of business leaders and I am appalled that anyone would think this place deserves the prices it gets for average food with an unchanging menu.... More

We made our annual trip to Old Mesilla and always stop at the Double Eagle. The interior patio area and bar are wonderful in preserving the architecture and décor of the era. There's a lot of history in this grand old building in the heart of La Mesilla. I had the Big Jack Chili Rellenos with a cup of Tortilla... More
