While walking around Mesilla you can get thirsty for a margarita, so we stopped in to the Double Eagle Bar and restaurant, recently. The bartender was very knowledgable and the margarita list is long and varied, but the interior is worth the trip, alone! The interior is beautiful with some large Pre-Raphelite paintings, gorgeous chandeliers and other period pieces, that... More

We ate lunch here with a group and had a great experience. The food was good, we had the brisket. The building itself is a marvel and worth a tour. The servers were efficient and friendly. I would definitely recommend this stop.

Try the stuffed Jalapenos wrapped in bacon. YUMMMM The food was fabulous. I traveled 32 days back and forth in the USA and tried over 75 restaurants, and I will say this was in the top 3. The servers were also very friendly and informative on the food and the history of the building and the lovers story. They even... More

Located in Old Mesilla, this establishment has quite the history! The restaurants are located in a 150 yr old home, decorated with antiques from the post-Civil War, French decor lighting and mirrors. A true step back in time. Peppers, the central courtyard of the home has been converted into an atrium cafe' with large plants providing romantic privacy. Many times... More

The Sunday brunch is spectacular. So much food, so little time. Save room for dessert - cheese cake, key lime pie, pecan tarts, chocolate cake...

Some friends who recently retired to Las Cruces, took us to this restaurant. They had been there for a dinner which they raved about as one of their top ten meals ever. I thought the brunch was truly outstanding. A large back room was setup as the buffet station. There was a large round table of lunch type items to... More

We were walking around the square in Mesilla and smelled wonderful Mexican cooking. We asked one of the store owners where the smell was coming from and they directed us to the Double Eagle. The restaurant looks great, an old fashioned bar with chandeliers and we ate in the covered courtyard. Service was good and we ordered cheese enchiladas and... More
