upscale, excellent food, great decoration, historic

My title tells it all. This is really a great restaurant, and it isn't necessarily a Mexican type restaurant. There are two facilities in this location, one upscale, and one less so. We only come here for drinks, but we always come. What we love are the margaritas. My friends get the mango, but I ALWAYS get the green chile margarita. So good!!! The macerate the chilli in the tequila so the whole drink has that green chilli flavor

We visit Mesilla every couple of years and we always stop at the Double Eagle for a green chili cheese burger and a margarita. The green chili is always exceptional and it goes so well with their tangy margaritas.

We made a reservation but they didn't have our table ready so we got drinks. The bar was like an old saloon... Really cute. We were seated and waited for a while before our waiter came apologizing for our wait. It was not crowded so I am not sure why we were waiting. Another couple sat after us was served... More

If you are visiting Las Cruces, NM or the old town of Meslilla, you have undoubtedly been told that the best steakhouse in town is the Double Eagle. Unfortunately, this is one of the most overpriced and average restaurants in town. Food: 2.5 Interior/History of Location: 4.5 Staff: 3 Wine List: 3.5 Prices: 2 Let me start by saying the... More

Wow! What a steak dinner! I thoroughly enjoyed the food and atmosphere. The price was a bit steep, but the food was Oh so good! If you want to splurge on a meal and desire a well-cooked steak, this is your place!

We have been to dinner here multiple times, some times the steak is great and others it is average. The price is quite high for the amount of food and flavor of meat. We also tried the champagne brunch, would not go back. It was taste, but nothing special for $27 pp.

We opted to dine here instead of the sister restaurant, Peppers. We were very happy with the decision. We ordered a bottle of wine, which was very reasonably priced. In fact, we liked the wine so much that we contacted the winery in Napa to determine if we could order directly - unfortunately, even the winery has sold all of... More

traveling west, stopped in Las cruces on 12/30. Went to explore and decided to have our New Year's Eve splurge here ( a day early). The meal was expensive, but worth every penny. The waiter was trained to work in an upscale place, but was friendly, and helpful without being pushy. The building is a very old, elegantly refurbished place...just... More
