Of all the places we ate it on our trip to Las Cruces, Double Eagle was the best. We actually ate at Peppers Cafe, which is the less formal area of the restaurant. The Green Chile Cheese Wontons were to die for - definitely a must try. Be advised though - they are sweet, not spicy. Otherwise, the Posole soup... More

When my husband visited here 30 + years ago, this was a highlight of his trip. On this, our third trip in the last year, he convinced me that it would be a great place to eat. He wasn't wrong. The service, the setting, the history and the FOOD all made this an outstanding experience. We all had the steak,... More

The Double Eagle is the only "Fine Dining" establishment in the area. That doesn't make them snobby. The waitstaff is friendly and accomidating when you want to know about the ghosts (it's haunted). The dry aged steaks are expertly prepared and you'd be hard pressed to find a better champaign brunch in the area. The chefs have created a menu... More

This restaurant was recommended by our hotel staff. It is overpriced and overrated. We found the food quality to be average, but quite expensive.

This was an experience that was truly enjoyed by all! We had 6 in our party and had a wonderful meal. The steaks are the best in town, but you will pay for it. The ribeye & New York Strip were the best cuts. My wife enjoyed the Filet Mignon, saying it was one of the best she ever had.... More

Feb 2015 The restaurant's signage is so understated & the entrance so unassuming we had no idea a restaurant was here! Lisa at Julienne's Jewelry next door recommended Double Eagle's Pepper Café for lunch. We certainly weren't prepared for this historic & visually stunning posh jewel! Somehow I missed it in the guidebooks. There's lovely stained glass ceilings & insets... More

I could happily have spent the entire day in this building! Built in the 1850s as a private home, filled with amazing decor - carved wood, gilt, crystal, paintings... wow. Reputed to be haunted but has NO bad atmosphere. The food was delicious, and a little different; I had chicken with green chiles and cheese; my husband had brisket. Dessert... More

This was our first visit and we enjoyed it thoroughly. The service and food here rival great steakhouses in Las Vegas Nevada.I had a new york strip that was cooked to perfection. My wife had the ribeye that was prepared tableside. It was also cooked to perfection. The wine was also very good. The restaurant appears to be very old with large mirrors with carved... after working hard for almost a week in Las Cruces, I decided to end my trip as I have many others, with an amazing lunch at Double Eagle before heading back to El Paso to make my flight. Can't say enough as to how much I enjoy this amazing place and the quality of food, service and atmosphere. If I... More
