Service was horrible. Could never find the waiter and when we did see him it took several of us to flag him down. Food came out cold, like it had been sitting for awhile waiting to be picked up. When we talked to the manager about the whole experience, she acted like we were bothering her and was extremely rude.... More

Already having a bad experience with this hotel we decided to get lunch at their restaurant hoping for a turn-around. I had ordered a zuchinni pasta dish in hopes to eat somewhat healthy. The dish was drowning in overcooked in some oily, fatty, parmeasean sauce. The plate was blistering hot which indicated to me that it was microwaved. When I... More

We traveled to Ruidoso for my husbands birthday dinner. We got there at 7 and had to wait until 8 to eat. That was fine...We finally were set at 8:30... Not ok. Our server was slow and seemed rushed with us, even though the restaurant was not half full. We had 3 ribeyes ordered WITHOUT their reduction sauce. One medium... More

We had breakfast and dinner at Wendall's while in Ruidoso this November. The setting was great. Outstanding location, restaurant very clean and the staff was great. The best Elk steak I have ever had. This restaurant is located in the hotel side of the Casino so this should not bother those that do not go to casinos. Every part of... More

From the Escargot to the Elk to the extra special presentation of an inscribed birthday platter, we were treated to an extraordinary meal.

I booked a reservation at Wendell's for a celebratory family dinner. Our large table was located at the back of the restaurant with little traffic and noise disturbance. At the start our waiter was congenial to the point of obsequiousness, but soon things begin to fall apart. Despite the fact that there were few diners, the service became extraordinarily slow.... The food is unique and interesting. They do change their menu seasonally. When we went, they had options like Elk, crown of lamb, seafood, even vegetarian options. First time I ordered the Large shrimp with crab topping, it needed seasoning bad. The side that came with it of corn custard was not appeasing to me or others i dined with.... More

Great view and lovely breakfast. They seemed to be having service issues. They need to have someone to greet you.

I'm generally not a fan of hotel/resort restaurants. Now of course you have the Dean Fearing's place in Dallas located in the Ritz Carlton or the French Room in the Adolphus Hotel. But these world class eating establishments are exceptions to the rule. Wendall''s, located in the Inn of the Mountain Gods, Mescalero, New Mexico, was a step above your... More
