Quaint western spot. We once drove by in the summer and saw a horse tied up outside. Finally decided to have lunch here today. Great local beef burgers with reasonable prices. Good service and quality.

We stopped here in Madrid for a quick lunch. Sat on the terrace overlooking the street, enjoying the sunshine. Service was a bit slow but they were busy with people visiting after the International Balloon Fiesta. Can't remember what we had to eat but I do know that the portions were so big that we had to ask for a... More

This is a real restaurant in the mining area. Big bar scene. Noted for their burgers. Can get busy as this is the only place in town.

We stopped in Madrid on the way to Santa Fe from Albuquerque. W were told to take the Torquoise Trail rather than the interstate by a hotel employee in Albuquerque, and we were glad we did. Madrid was a quiet artist community that used to be a mining town, and this tavern was the center for entertainment. There was a... More

The hang out for the locals is friendly to "strangers". The food is typical bar food and tasty, quick and reasonably priced. If you can go there the night of the Halloween Costume contest where the creativity of the local artisans is awesome.

What a setting: the building has been there "forever", and it has the longest stand-up bar in NM. It also has a small stage for musicians who perform most nights. I wish we had spent more time in Madrid; it has some of the quirkiest art and craft shops anywhere. We had a green chili stew (smoked pork, very spicy... More

We stopped for a light lunch on our way to Madrid. It was a beautiful day so we ate on the deck. There were many locals at the bar so it must be the popular watering hole in the area. We had nachos and a couple beers- service was okay as was the meal. For such a neat little town,... More

Stopped in Madrid up the Turquoise Trail. Just walk in here for an appetizer and a beer. The staff was friendly and fast. Sat out on the deck. We had the deep fried peppers with a local craft beer. They were excellent and the beer was very good. Looked at what others were ordering and wish we had time to... More
