Great lunch on the turquoise trail

Funky little outdoor cafe in the middle of Madrid. Loved their green chili cheeseburgers served on pretzel buns. Also loved fried okra being an option besides fries. Cold beer and friendly service. Would note that it took a little long to get our food, but it was a beautiful day and ultimately the... read more

While visiting Santa Fe, we took a day trip to Madrid to visit the funky little former mining town. We noticed many diners on the patio (gravel, dirt surface) having lunch so we decided to stop. We were excited about our experience as the chef was a graduate of the Culinary Institute and our expectations were high. Service was unbelievably... More

Went on a day trip from Albuquerque to Santa Fe driving the Turquoise Trail. Stopped in Madridy to view the art galleriies and curio shops. Got hungry found the Holler and went in. Our waiteress Gpierce provided us with good friendly service. We both had the Crispy Chicken with Grits $13.50 each. Food was tasty well cooked. Rustic atmosphere and... More

I recommend the chili relleno and the mimosas, both are excellent. We always drive out of our way to enjoy a meal here. The service is very good and the

I rode up to Madrid on this beautiful weekend. I wanted try theHollar since it was recommended previously by the locals. We sat outside in the patio area which has several tables and some shade trees. The service was good. We ordered breakfasts, I had biscuits and sausage gravy and eggs over easy. It was served with a side of... More

The Hollar had some of the best burgers we have had. My husband had a burger with goat cheese and green chile and he had to tell the server several times how much he loved it. They were very busy and the service was great! They also carried local beer from Santa Fe and ABQ.

Stopped in on one of our several trips to Madrid. I ordered the chicken sandwich with roasted chiles and locally sourced goat cheese. It was magnificent, and a large enough portion that I needed a to-go box. Our sever Erin very attentive and friendly. Would highly recommend the little town and The Hollar if you are passing through.

We stopped in Madrid while driving to Santa Fe. The village was deserted and the art shops were garbage. The Hollar serves an amazing buffalo burger and the waitress (young new yorker) gave us the best service. She was friendly and the food was delicious.

One of the joys of traveling is experiencing unique flavors of new places. The holler combines New Mexican delights with the flavors of the American south in an unexpected and imaginative way. I had the burger with chilis and goat cheese. What a great medley! My sister had grits and fried green tomatoes which she loved. Funky place in a... More

Madrid is a former ghost town reincarnated as an artist colony. Great place to stroll, shop and eat. The Hollar is fun with the railroad freight car, outdoor patio and art display. For was good and service was friendly. Having WiFi was a bonus as cell reception here is spotty at best. Well worth a stop.
