Went there with a group of 5 other people. Service was a bit slow, but the food all came at once. Reminded me more of fast food, but it was ok. No one complained. Tables are all in the open in one big room, so no privacy.

Just happened to be driving down the main drag of Lordsburg when we spotted this place across the railroad tracks in a very unusual location. At first glance the diner might say no way I'm not eating there. Well you would be missing some very authentic Mexican food at a good price. Our server was a much older woman (probably... More

We were passing though on our cross-country move and stopped at El Charro. While the exterior is not exactly beautiful the food did not disappoint. With hefty portions and minimal prices it was a great pit stop. Service was not exactly friendly, but it was fine for a quick stop on the road.

If you like restaurunt chains and factory food, give El Charro a miss. If you like a local experience that hasnt changed in decades, or even the "hole-in-the-wall" experience, El Charro is not to be missed. Everything is good to very good, but the chile rellenos are awesome ... not your typical batter and better than you get about anywhere... More

Other people have written about the setting... Not elegant. But the restaurant is clean and everyone is working hard. The right-hand rooms serve beer and wine. The left-hand room is alcohol-free. Our dinner was great! The menudo was deep, authentic, delicious, rich. The enchiladas, tacos and tostadas were really good, and the salsa perfectly spicy. 2 Dos Equis, a cold... More

This restaurant has quite possibly the worst food in New Mexico. Honestly, you're probably better off just grabbing a prepackaged sandwich and chips from the convenience store than eating here. The one exception is the salsa.....it is very good. And I will give credit to the waitstaff, they are very friendly and provide good service.

I We stopped in Lordsburg to eat at El Charos for dinner as per a recommendation by others. Lordsburg is an old town richt off I-10 and I'm glad we stopped. Not too much there as many of the stores are closed, BUT! The food was excelent along with the waitress. It's all authentic Mexican. The area is located along the... More

El Charro is an old timey diner in a small town. Enough said? Food: Pretty decent. Free chips and salsa to start. Most everything is "hot", whether ordered that way or not. Staff: The wait staff was extremely attentive and the food was delivered promptly. Prices: Kind of pricey for the location and quality. Figure about $10 a person with... More

By far the worst Mexican food i have ever put in my mouth. After the restaurants ranked 1 and 2 were closed and 3 in had a boring menu, this place was recommended by the hotel staff. What an incredible disappointment! My partner had a trio of different burritos that were indistiguishable from one another and smothered with cheese. I... More
