My wife and I meant to eat at Ramona's Cafe on our trip through Lordsburg but it was closed. We tried El Charro's instead. The service was friendly and efficient. This restaurant is an old run down sort of place, rather lost in time back in the 1950's. We heard of a waitress at El Charro's who is now over... More

Poor service, expensive food and small servings. The only redeeming quality was the food was passable in the taste department. Pick another restaurant if you hungry!

We eat Mexican food a lot and the food here was a little above average and a good value. The Negra Modelo beer was served in a frosted glass and the service was quite good. The waitress was about 80 and great. No atmosphere, but locals gave it color.

This place was pretty busy for a Saturday (seemed like it was frequented by a lot of locals, always a good sign). There were two very busy waitresses so that might account for the very loooong wait. The chips were good, salsa ok, and the margaritas mediocre. I had chicken tacos which were tasty, and hubby had a green chile... More

My son and I rode a pair of Harleys from Orlando to Los Angeles - we stayed at a different place every night and ate at three different restaurants each day. We stayed at a LOT of places, some were great, some were not so great. This place however, was THE WORST of all the 40 plus restaurants we ate... More

I don't like to be mean, but this was just the worst Mexican food I'd ever had. New Mexico has excellent red chili sauce, it's famous. They grow the chilies there! I seriously think the sauce was from a can. There is no excuse for this horrible food. They should know better. The service was bad too, it took the waiter... More

I have had some incredible tacos and good chile rellenos at El Charro, but I have never been satisfied with their service. Waitresses are very slow to help you and I have often felt like I'm inconveniencing them, even when they are not very busy. The place is not at all aesthetically pleasing. Prices are also a bit high compared... More

Well Green Chile! Wonderful Green Chile! Perfect Chile rellenos! Lovely service, and when I said I wanted to try the red sauce as well, a complimentary red enchilada was given to us! Inexpensive and fun. Yes it is a beat up old building and the facilities are very worn, but I came for the food and will come back now... More

For those of you who still prefer regional cuisine as opposed to a processed, tasteless fast food meal, this is the place. We stopped in Lordsburg on a Sunday night as part of a cross country journey and saw the restaurant sign while we were looking for a motel. We thought it looked full of character and vowed to eat... We live in southern New Mexico and have been to various Mexican cafes the might be described as dives as far as the ambiance goes. So I wasn't put off by the "decor". The food is another story. There was very little green chili in the green chili enchiladas. The beans were cold and tasteless. I would NEVER eat here... More
