Elegant food

I was driving through Las Vegas New Mexico and found this place on tripadvisor. The food is well cooked, and they have a good wine selection. The staff was very kind and attentive. This is probably the best food in town.

We ordered ahead as a group of 25 and everything was handled well for us. The food was delicious and the decor interesting.

El Fidel is arguably our favorite local restaurant. The menu includes a wide array of out-of-the-ordinary dishes tastefully prepared and presented. The daily specials of a chicken sandwich and a soup are creative and delicious. Fresh ingredients well prepared go into creations such as a Brussel sprout vegetable stew and a bacon and mushroom cream soup. Fresh salads, seafood, vegetarian... More

Finding this little yummy place is worth the effort. On our way to AZ from Denver on a cold snowy night we found a port in the storm. Everything is made fresh of quality ingredients. The bread was especially delicious as a warm up. Very reasonably priced wine and a surprisingly sophisticated list of options. Pasta Gorgonzola hit the spot--huge... More

When we asked where to eat during our 3 night stay in Las Vegas, NM......the El Fidel was always mentioned first. It is hard to give an excellent review when the service was so slow. We just wanted a light meal of soup and salad, but waited over 45 minutes for our food...........not sure what the problem was because the... More

Great food, exquisitely prepared and presented. It was a delightful dining experience! Grilled Caesar salad, lamb poplettes, and tiramisu, with a very nice wine selection. Will be back!

Almost missed this one........not very well lit on the outside. Sure glad we stopped! The food was delicious....made to order.....every dish was different (4 in our party)....very affordable. Quiet atmosphere---able to enjoy conversation with our guests. Staff most efficient and enjoyable. Chef Miguel is very gifted. Will definitely stop again if in Las Vegas, NM!!

This town is truly frontier like. This restaurant is in an old historic hotel that is well preserved. Don't miss the hotel lobby. The restaurant is basic in decor. I have never had a problem with service and definitely not with the food. The food in individually prepared and the menu varied. However, I am stuck with the Lettuce Wraps... More

Went here for our last dinner in town, visiting our daughter at college. 9 of us on a Sunday night. Quite, first customers of the evening served by Philip. Hate to say this but not a lot of nice dining options in Las Vegas, boy were we surprised. Everyone in our group had something different and we were all so... More

We had two meals at the El Fidel Restaurant while in Las Vegas, NM on business. Both meals were well prepared and both had items that were unique to Northern NM. Great value. I recommend the El Fidel Restaurant. The are on the walls is a nice touch too.
