The Cattle Barron is on the strip on the east side of town next to the mall. It's easy to get too, and parking is adequate. Staff are very professional, and knowledgeable. The menu varies with most dishes being steak which can be ordered any way you like. Seafood is very high priced, so I would not count on it.... More

A group of us girls came to have the salad bar for lunch. It was overflowing with various types of salad, vegetables, pastas, potatoes, desserts, and soups. It was perfect for an unlimited lunch. As an appetizer we got the green chili won-tons. They were excellent and came with two different sauces, one was a soy sauce and one was... More

We normally go to Cattle Barons on Sunday for their salad bar. On Sunday they have posole as part of the salad bar. The posole is nice and spicy. I put alittle shredded cheese in the bottom of the bowl, then add the posole and let the cheese melt. There is also another soup on the bar but that varies.... More

Several Las Cruces restaurants feature a salad bar, but the Cattle Baron's is by far the best in my experience. Also, the draft beer selection includes dark ales as well as good ole Dos Equis Lager. I liked the straw onion rings they had on their old menu better than what they serve now, but you can't beat their generous,... More

My husband loves the salad bar and gets that as his meal. I have had really good prime rib here. We try to go before 4:00 pm to get the lunch prices! Great deal.

Was here on business and decided to try this place. The atmosphere is very nice and is very casual. I started with the salad bar which has something for everyone. That was the best part of my meal. I ordered a strip steak which was just ok. There was hardly any flavor to it. My side was the vegetable of... More

We went on Easter Sunday and sat in the bar because the restaurant was full. It went down hill from there. The waitress was vague, forgot our menus, forgot butter for the bread...twice. The food was cold when we got it....The second order of bread we got was raw in the middle and no butter. Cold shrivelled up chips, cold... More

This is a consistently good restaurant with a solid basic menu selection. We have lived here 15 years and I notice almost no change in product offering. Frankly, I am "tired" of rarely seeing something new. Maybe that is good.....I am not sure. For visitors - I would recommend the specialty "steak toppings", the already mentioned salad bar, and the... More

This is a great New Mexico franchise so it has a nice local flair. Beautiful decor with a luscious salad bar. Their steaks are tasty if slightly over priced.

cattle baron has one of the best salad bars in town--steaks are OK, but nothing to write home about--seafood?? forget it--I have never had fish or shrimp there that wasn't over cooked--the bar is pleasant, usually quiet, and serves pretty good munchies--nice place to meet for drinks and conversation--if we are dining with friends who want to go there, we...
