There are only a few steakhouses in town and this is the best that we've found. It's a good choice when we want something instead of the local Mexican food. Salad bar is good.

We have been here many times this past year. Compared to the other steakhouses in Las Cruces such as Outback or K-Bob its the best in town for the value. The salad bar and atmospere are a big plus along with quality beef. If you go between 3-5 pm the sunset menu is a great value and includes salad bar.

Don't waste your time, money, or appetite. We had relatives come from out of town, looking for a good steak and salad. In previous years, Cattle Baron's had been delicious, but now the restaurant has gone down hill. The salad bar was along the lines of a cheap family type buffet with watered down flavorless dressing, yucky greens, and terrible... More

One of my Favorite Restaurants since my college days. I have a little nice story about the original owners whom are great people, when the restaurant first opens in Portales, New Mexico, but I will leave it at that. Classy and clean Restaurant in Las Cruces and it does get busy, so go early. I enjoy lunch and had the... More

One of Las Cruces' quality restaurants that will not disappoint in anyway. Good value and excellent service. Enjoyable atmosphere, excellent outside patio and views.

Ordered a rib eye medium rare it was medium well. My waitress was terrible. Props to the manager for taking care of the problem. If you go there get the salad bar, best thing on the menu.

The Cattle Barron is on the strip on the east side of town next to the mall. It's easy to get too, and parking is adequate. Staff are very professional, and knowledgeable. The menu varies with most dishes being steak which can be ordered any way you like. Seafood is very high priced, so I would not count on it.... More

A group of us girls came to have the salad bar for lunch. It was overflowing with various types of salad, vegetables, pastas, potatoes, desserts, and soups. It was perfect for an unlimited lunch. As an appetizer we got the green chili won-tons. They were excellent and came with two different sauces, one was a soy sauce and one was... More

We normally go to Cattle Barons on Sunday for their salad bar. On Sunday they have posole as part of the salad bar. The posole is nice and spicy. I put alittle shredded cheese in the bottom of the bowl, then add the posole and let the cheese melt. There is also another soup on the bar but that varies.... More

Several Las Cruces restaurants feature a salad bar, but the Cattle Baron's is by far the best in my experience. Also, the draft beer selection includes dark ales as well as good ole Dos Equis Lager. I liked the straw onion rings they had on their old menu better than what they serve now, but you can't beat their generous,... More
