Love this place for good authentic Mexican food. Can get a bit busy during lunch so get in early. The tacos are fantastic!! Honestly it's all good. Can be a bit loud at times but they make up for with a great outdoor patio.

Las Cruces is a college town and this place is a reflection of that. Good food decent price. It is loud, but that's part of the charm. You see people here from all walks of life, so go, because it is good and we all need to relive our college days sometimes!

This gem has the friendliest servers, and the best chips and salsa in town. The food is always great and cooked to perfection.

I have always enjoyed eating at this cafe but, lately, the music is too loud, unbearable loud. I have asked the personnel to reduce the level but was told that the owner explicitly requested the music not be reduced in volume. Why...? Does the owner wants to have a quick turnover of the cafe's customers? As much as I liked... More

Ambience and location bring you here, the food and the service will bring you back. Friendly waiters who ensure that your needs are promptly attended. Salsa maybe a little to hot for visitors but it was very good for us. I like the combo plates there, nice variety of food.

We eat here often and have always had great food! Their salsa is fantastic. They have good specials. Service is friendly and the atmosphere is pleasant. Great menu selection. Can order healthy versions.

In town on business and stopped by solo. Paid ~$12 all in. El Sombrero has a typical Mexican food menu. Ordered a shredded beef burrito, green 'sauce', and iced tea. I pulled up just after noon and the parking lot was overflowing onto side streets. (Good sign). I went in and the place was packed but they offered to sit... More

The service was horrible! At least four tables who arrived after we did received their food 20 minutes before ours. When the food eventually did come out (there was five of us), it all came out at different times, the last coming nearly 10 minutes after the first. Good: Salsa was good, beer was cold Bad: Their green enchilada sauce... More

We showed up at 11a on a Wednesday when they opened and we weren't the only ones there. That's a good sign. It was full quickly! We grabbed a table on the patio and it was quaint. We love alfresco and it was covered so if you eat on a hot day, you will be good to go. The hot... More

Craving hot New Mexico chili. Found our favorite place. The green chili enchiladas were ideal. However, note my wife could not handle them. To hot! If you have a hard time chosen what to order, they have three combo plates. You pick the chili, green or red. I ask whichever is hotter that day and I base my pick with... More
