La Casita visit

Salsa was too hot for my liking but the food was delicious. I specifically recommend the calavasitas(squash and corn combo)

We came here because Tripadvisor lists this place as the number one restaurant in Las Cruces. We don't agree. The salsa is incredibly hot! The chips are stale The rice is bland Both the green and red sauces on our enchiladas is spicy The reason for two stars: One is for the nice waitress and the other is because we... More

We came here on a whim while passing through town, and it was delicious. The staff is very friendly and warm, when you walk into the restaurant it has a small town feel, with delicious food. There are several options with your meals, I honestly cannot pronounce them, but they are delicious, if you are like me, and want to... More

Great breakfast selections here, try the red tostadas compuestas. Open everyday, friendly staff, great value. I do not care for the borracho beans, but I have a good friend who loves them. I come here every year while visiting Las Cruces.

Ate here with some local adult relatives. It's a small neighborhood restaurant, which is not offputting to us. Service, while not great, was acceptable. My wife thought her meal was tasty; however, the meat in my meal was very dry & chewy. To top things off, when I got my credit card statement, the restaurant had charged $5 more than... More

We saw this listed in a "local restaurants" listing from a conference we attended. This is out of the way, on a small street but it's worth looking for. My wife had the huevos rancheros which she liked very much. I had the chorizo and eggs which was outstanding. We don't live in the area but if we did the... More

Although this place's official name is La Nueva Casita Cafe (nueva or "new" version of La Casita?), it IS at 195 N Mesquite Street. I went on a Wednesday evening, a little over an hour before closing - the place is not open for dinner every night of the week. Being a first-timer, one of the waitresses, who was working... More

Luis greeted us at the door and we were seated immediately. We didn't have to wait long for our food either. If you like spicy food, the chili rellenos were great... the best I've ever had! We never would have found the place, if not for tripadvisor. My husband and I would highly recommend eating there.

Looking for a local run restaurant in Las Cruces? I recommend La Casita Cafe. We were traveling and stopped for lunch. It was past the normal lunch hour and the cafe was nearly empty but we were warmly greeted. Our server was happy to explain dishes unfamiliar to us, so be sure to ask and try something new. We were... More
