Best Salsa Around

We went for breakfast. Food was delicious. Some dishes I haven't seen anywhere else. I have eaten at a couple of hundred Mexican and Tex-Mex restaurants in the US and Mexico, and La Casita has some of the best salsa anywhere. In historic neighborhood away from the shopping malls.

What a lovely rustic little place with fantastic food. Located in the old district around old neat architecture, early New Mexico. The atmosphere was great and even better after I put a few quarters in the juke box and played many Patsy Cline songs! We both Jaf the Licha's Combination Plate...that is all you need with a taco, chile relleno,... More

Disappointed by not hitting our usual NM favorites on I-40, I searched TA for something decent to eat. Upon pulling up I was hesitant as my family is not a fan of cozy home-cooking looking places. We ordered Chili Reno Omlete with red sauce and a combination plate (chili reno, taco, chili verede & enchilada). They were absolutely amazing in... More

Since this was listed as #1 restaurant in Los Cruces we just had to go and try it. We were not disappointed. This is as authentic Mexican as it gets. My husband commented that he guacamole was creamier and tastier than any place he had been before. A very cute, cute restaurant. The chimichanga was delicious with three kind of... More

We research TA to find a good Mexican/Southwestern restaurant and Mrs. M landed on this one. It wasn't very far from our hotel and there were plenty of good reviews. The restaurant is in an older section of town...nothing scary but it's more of a residential area. There is a parking area in the back. We were quickly greeted and... More

Went in for early dinner. Only customers in cafe. We are from Kansas so sometimes find Mexican food we are not familiar with. When I had a choice of different things and didn't know what to choose the waitress just brought me a smaller portion of each so I could try it all. Everything was great. Before we finished our... Small cafe with excellent atmosphere, food and service. Chile relleno's were scrumptious. Kids were happy with their "kid food" chicken nuggets and fries. Everyone left full, happy, and relaxed.

Let's start by saying that I eat Tex-Mex probably twice a week. The menu here had options that I had never heard of and I stepped out on a limb and tried a few. Calabasita's was one- not impressed. My entree was the Tacos Estrellas and they were good. Corn tortilla with shredded pork served with guac and pico. The... More

A gem of a family restaurant. Clearly a local institution - great food, friendly service, and a welcoming atmosphere. Will be a must visit every time we're in town.
