This restaurant came highly recommended by the locals and it turned out to be the best meal we had while in New Mexico. Yes, it's small and gets crowded and noisy, but the food is authentic. We lived in NM 30 years ago and this is what we remember New Mexican food to be like.

The service was so poor that it overshadowed the delicious food. Yes, they were busy but that doesn't explain the unacceptable level of service.

While in town for a social event, the locals organized a lunch here for 12 of us. Since it's a small place and the restaurant is only open until 2:00 (breakfast and lunch), we had to wait awhile. The atmosphere is noisy and crowded. The service is efficient and friendly. The food is very good, with large portions and for... More

I found this to be quite popular with the locals, yet the limited hours of operation; lunch only causes it to be crowded and noisy and you better get there before noon! Food and service are good but not a relaxing atmosphere!

Always fresh and tasty, authentic and friendly. Green chile is very good, and that's the most important thing in a New Mexican restaurant.

This is one of my personal favorites. I don't give it five stars because it is a small place and often crowded so service can be spotty however. I really like the people who work there. The food is plentiful and flavorful with authentic New Mexican taste. The menu is limited which is a good thing because you are not... More

...inside a very small foyer area where you will be in the way of the waitstaff. Only open for lunch, and VERY popular. Great chile, but hot. Huge portions for a great price. Service is a little slow, but that's just because they are so busy. You can still get in and in about an hour.

Excellent Spanish food green chili was the best, The sopaipilla with honey was great, the salsa was hot just the way I like it. Had a Green chili chicken enchilada with a fried egg on top, side of rice the best. I always make a stop at Nellies when in Las Cruces!
