Very authentic and fast

This was my first trip to Las Cruces, and I enjoyed Nellie's Cafe. We ordered "safely" some tacos, which came quickly and were quite good. The place was packed at 1 p.m., and one of the waitresses said that it was always crowded.

Nellie's Cafe may have limited hours, closing at 2 in the afternoon, but it never has limited customers. The food is great, always fresh and with a great green chili offerings.

We went to Nellie's for breakfast and it was was a nice feel like the locals experience. Not only did most of the diners know one another, but they're interaction with the staff was impressive. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful. The staff were friendly and attentive, I would definitely recommend Nellies to all!

My family and I were hyped up to have some good gorditas at Nellie's Cafe on our way out of Las Cruces, NM. Well, that "hype" quickly turned into disappointment when we waited 10 minutes for someone to take our drink order. I saw numerous people who were seated after us receive their drinks and chips & salsa immediately. The... More

This is truly homemade Mexican food! Loved the spices and the heat! I also enjoy the family who works at Nellies! Not fancy but super good food! Go early or late because there is always a line at lunch!

Very good red Chile enchiladas. Their chips and salsa are great. Get there early as lines form quickly. Dress light though as it does get warm in the restaurant.

Fantastic Mexican food. Went for breakfast and had a huge plate of huevos rancheros and coffee for $10. Green chilli is hot, so beware. Red chilli was yummy. A must visit!

Great food and true old time Las Cruces Mexican café. I cannot add to what earlier reviews have said. If you are ready to step up from the Taco Bells of the world, then visit Nellies.

I've been going to Nellie's since I was a kid. The food at Nellie's has remained the same despite the minor changes the building has seen over the years. My opinion is that Nellie's has the best green chile sauce in New Mexico. Be aware that your first experience here may be off-putting, the service is geared towards locals who... More
