I went to Nellie's after reading reviews online by people who apparently think they serve the best Mexican food in Las Cruces. The menu looks promising but the food we ordered had little flavor. The gordita was just ground meat and no noticeable seasoning. The chile relleno burritos were the same. And the waitress completely messed up the orders. I... More

This is a great place for lunch or breakfast in Las Cruces. Although it is in an older building, it is newly remodeled and provides a small family atmosphere with great Southern New Mexico food. The owners are the hosts and wait staff and they are extremely friendly. It is very popular and small so be prepared for a wait.

I lived in the Southwest for many years and learned to love and cook good Mexican food. Since moving to the Midwest it's been frustrating to not be able to find authentic food or ingredients. So I was thrilled to be able to eat breakfast at Nellie's and have the best of the best. Salsa is fresh, red chile sauce... More

Nellie's is probably the best New Mexican food in town. Only four stars because the service is HORRIBLE, the venue is small (often have to wait), and they only take cash. But, the food is so good, pretty much everyone puts up with it.

Most consistent, best Chile Red or Green, Best service from a dedicated family. I've know the family for +40 years. From delivering burritos in an old ford station wagon to the restaurant that it is today. Some folks complain when they close for their annual family vacation. I applaud them for that. Best there is here, wish they were open for dinner. A good selection of Mex and New Mexican food. Get there early or you have to wait, but the food is worth it.

We eat at Nellie's 2-3 times a month. This is the best Mexican Food in town. It is a very small restaurant and it is crowded but no one minds as the food is great. The waitresses have been there for a long time and get to know you. It is like a family as we know the owner and... More

Nellie's was recommended by a neighbor so we tried it out. Despite an off-the-main-path location and limited hours, we found the place to be bustling. We arrived about 2:15 p.m. - and found that they normally close at 2:00. The very busy but very friendly staff seated us anyway - and we ordered a combination plate to assess a range... More
