We were in the area for 1 night and checked out Trip Advisor for mexican restaurant reviews. This one sounded interesting and the menu posted there looked good, too. When we entered the restaurant, the entree menu on the board was substantially higher. We ordered the chips/salsa, chili con queso and a 3 item combination plate. Our combination plate consisted... We ate here after reading reviews during an overnight stay in Las Cruces. The restaurant is clean and the staff friendly. Orders are made at the counter and then served to your table. My husband ordered fajitas and said they were excellent. I ordered the chicken tostado, and although very good, was not the best I have been served. They... More

I just had to try them out at their new location. I had their taco plate and was disappointed and should have chosen one of their burritos which have always great. The new location is very attractive and is a part of the historical heritage of southern New Mexico. I will go back for my regular burrito plate

Read great reviews and so we went. Had the cheese enchiladas--which were at best--average. Service was fine but all and all the place was not memorable

We found this gem last year (couple days after Christmas) on a trip to White Sands. We loved it so we ate there twice last year. This year we came down again but unfortunately they were closed on Sunday (we did end up eating at and loving Los Mariachis). This year we came back from White Sands just for Brunch... More

I visited for the first time a couple of days ago for a quick lunch, and I was anxious to see their new location. There were lots of great choices on the menu, but I settled on the Steak Quesadilla because of the picture displayed on the counter. It was very tasty, and to my surprise, they also served a... Habaneros, now in their new location, which is more roomy and way better than the last one (plenty of parking and better accommodations); however, the flavor is still great! The best low-priced Mexican food in Las Cruces, is slightly more expensive than before, but the taste is still authentic, so we understand, since it's a new place and all. A... More

I live in Las Cruces. I have to say I'm very surprised to see Habenero's is #7 here. I know of much better places to eat than this. Ordering is done at the counter. I prefer to look over a menu and order at my table. We waited for the customary chips and salsa. Instead we got "Welcome Soup" Wished... More

Cute Mexican restaurant with great food. You order at the window and they bring the order to your table. A bonus was a cup of wonderful noodle and bean soup. I had a shrimp and rice dish with thinly sliced squash. I would order it again. Unfortunately they did not yet have their liquor license, so, darn, no good cold... More
