About 14 miles south of Mesilla on Rt 28. There are 2 buildings - a 'newer' one and the original adobe bar/cafe. We ate in the bar, because the the main building was super busy. Food was fantastic and very reasonably priced. Servers were hilarious, with many local history stories to share. We'll go again on our next trip!

Arrive just after the luncheon opening and the restaurant suddenly filled to capacity with local business people, friends and a few tourists. The service staff was quite adept at handling this surge in capacity and met our every need. Cant really tell you how good the food is in a phrase. Let me try a different way. The chips and... More

This place is just awesome. It's a little drive outside Las Cruces, but absolutely one of the best. I love eating in the bar - which is a separate building, but with the family, they also have a nice sized restaurant - although you may wait a while. The bar is old school, great atmosphere, big beers, and a place... More

Well what can I say but the best Mexican food you can get anywhere. I plan my trips so I can eat here. I have never been disappointed. The remodel is great inside. Service is excellent.

Went her the day after Thanksgiving. It was, as usual very crowded. After getting seated, we ordered and it wasn't too long to get our food. In the meantime the chips and salsa sitting on the table were more than adequate to blunt our appetites. For myself, I thought that the salsa was flavorful with just that extra touch of... More

I have eaten at Chope's since I was a child (40 years) and am still going. It is hands down the best Mexican food in El Paso, Las Cruces and the Southwest and that is saying a lot as there are many other excellent Mexican food restaurants in the area. It is half way between Las Cruces and El Paso... More

If you are traveling on HWY 28 through the pecan groves,on the way to El Paso, La Mesa is a small bump in the road. this is hardly the place that you would expect to find an old icon Mexican Restaurant. this old adobe build houses the original and added on restaurant. Some peoplemight not stop because from the outside... More

My husband and his family have been dining at Chope's for many moons! We were visiting my mother- in- law this weekend and when she asked where we wanted to go to eat on Saturday night, the hubby suggested Chope's. He is such a smart guy! Cool building, friendly, attentive servers and the food, oh my, soooooo good. I had... More
