Best Mexican food in the area. Family run, so the wait staff is sometimes a little off, but be patient. Its all worth it. Recommend the chile rellanos and enchilada dishes.. Closes early and also closed Sun and Mon.

I haven't eaten at Chope's in well over 20 years but I still crave this place on a regular basis. I've thought seriously about taking the 700+ mile journey to NM just to eat at Chope's. The bar is where I've eaten every meal at this establishment. There's just something about the "charm" of the place -- it gets such... More

My husband and I stopped on the way to Las Cruces. He had been here before and told me I had to try it. Having eaten Tex-Mex my whole life, I found their food to be rather boring....and I'm a bland eater. There really wasn't anything to come back for in my opinion, other than the hot sauce. It did... My husband grew up by this restaurant so we always go when we are in town. I always have the enchiladas and he has the chile relleno. I love the enchiladas because they are the flat enchiladas and we live in Texas and have only found flat enchiladas at one restaurant. Great Mexican food. A wonderful local friendly restaurant.

Did. It make reservations but was able to get in within about 30 minutes. The food was excellent tasting and the portions were just right. The atmosphere was great for family dining. The server was a bit busy but was able to get our in and out in short time.

The food was good, the margaritas below average. The biker bar is interesting, and you can order a 40 oz beer in the restaurant.

We hit this place around 7 on a Thursday, found the bar packed, went to the restaurant (which has sprawled into two large dining areas were packed. We were a party of nine, there was a party of 16 ahead of us. They seated us and fed us within an HOUR! Meanwhile taking smaller parties in and out. Every plate... More

Fantastic food; great staff; fast service. This legendary eatery is a bit difficult to find in La Mesa, NM just across the border, but well worth the effort and the drive is fairly scenic.

My boyfriend grew up here and has fond memories of this place, so when we were in the area it was a must. I loved it! The chilis were so fresh and the cuisine more authentic than any I've had back east. Everything was great. Cheap too! It's just a little hole in the wall but the food is truly... More
