Did. It make reservations but was able to get in within about 30 minutes. The food was excellent tasting and the portions were just right. The atmosphere was great for family dining. The server was a bit busy but was able to get our in and out in short time.

The food was good, the margaritas below average. The biker bar is interesting, and you can order a 40 oz beer in the restaurant.

We hit this place around 7 on a Thursday, found the bar packed, went to the restaurant (which has sprawled into two large dining areas were packed. We were a party of nine, there was a party of 16 ahead of us. They seated us and fed us within an HOUR! Meanwhile taking smaller parties in and out. Every plate... More

Fantastic food; great staff; fast service. This legendary eatery is a bit difficult to find in La Mesa, NM just across the border, but well worth the effort and the drive is fairly scenic.

My boyfriend grew up here and has fond memories of this place, so when we were in the area it was a must. I loved it! The chilis were so fresh and the cuisine more authentic than any I've had back east. Everything was great. Cheap too! It's just a little hole in the wall but the food is truly... More

New Mexico is for Chili Lovers and you will find them throughout the state and beyond. Chope's is located in Southwestern New Mexico (La Mesa) about 35 miles North of El Paso, TX and about the same distance South of Las Cruces, NM. My family owned a cabin near Cloudcroft and absolutely every time we visited the area, we would... More

After many years and many meals of tasty food and a varied menu, inertia seems to have set in. The wait staff seems disinterested and orders may or may not be carried out with care. Food quality hasn't seemed to be affected. You just might not get what you ordered and your choice is to wait while everyone else at... More

Had not been here for several years. Food and ambience were still great. The food is not the ordinary Mexican- restaurant fare -- it seems authentic and was very good. And inexpensive. Service too was VG. It was fun to return & find we enjoyed it as much as we did in the past
