Had not been here for several years. Food and ambience were still great. The food is not the ordinary Mexican- restaurant fare -- it seems authentic and was very good. And inexpensive. Service too was VG. It was fun to return & find we enjoyed it as much as we did in the past

Mexican cuisine at it's very finest! My gauge is the Chile Relleno. I (we) have not experienced a finer one ANYWHERE. You cannot err with any choice from the menu. Servings are plentiful with wonderful flavor. Don't be late; the dining room fills rapidly and deservedly so. Enjoy!

Probably the best New Mexico Mexican food in state. The same good food that we had 20 years ago. Never a disappointment.

Based on tip from a local bartender we drove the 13 miles south from Las Cruces through beautiful pecan trees to this charming family owned, family run and totally unpretentious restaurant. Don't miss the chile relenos...soft, nicely seasoned, crispy on the outside-perfect in every way. Worth the drive-which is both relaxing and beautiful. The exterior is nothing to write home... More

This place has been here for generations; still serving basic New Mexican plates. There are seemingly always tables available at the restaurunt even if the parking lot looks full. Good, basic chow with service that usually seems slow.

Yes, it's a bit out of the way, but worth the drive. Many folks from El Paso gladly make the trip. Consists of two buildings, the restaurant proper and the bar, which is housed in an historic adobe building with murals all around. It looks like a dive from outside, and the inside does not disappoint. Plastered with posters in... More

Located about 12-15 miles from the Shops of Old Mesilla, NM, Chope's is a small place where the locals gather, sometimes it's bikers with the jukebox going but for visitors, it's always 'they told me I had to try this place while I was here' ..... however you find yourself there, you'll enjoy whatever order! They have the traditional Mexican... More

About 14 miles south of Mesilla on Rt 28. There are 2 buildings - a 'newer' one and the original adobe bar/cafe. We ate in the bar, because the the main building was super busy. Food was fantastic and very reasonably priced. Servers were hilarious, with many local history stories to share. We'll go again on our next trip!

Arrive just after the luncheon opening and the restaurant suddenly filled to capacity with local business people, friends and a few tourists. The service staff was quite adept at handling this surge in capacity and met our every need. Cant really tell you how good the food is in a phrase. Let me try a different way. The chips and... More

This place is just awesome. It's a little drive outside Las Cruces, but absolutely one of the best. I love eating in the bar - which is a separate building, but with the family, they also have a nice sized restaurant - although you may wait a while. The bar is old school, great atmosphere, big beers, and a place... More
