get the double

Happened to be in Las Cruces on business so made the trek north to Hatch. Not sure I get the decor (think fast food boneyard) but didn't really care what it looks like quite frankly. Ordering was easy at a counter and your order is delivered to your table by number. I hemmed and hawed about... read more

Surprised there was a place to eat in Hatch, but found this little gem off I-25. Lots of old, used fast food paraphernalia both outside and inside from the restaurant. Order when you walk in, then sit down with a number. Green chile on everything, so need to ask them to 'hold it' if you're not a fan. Person behind... More

On our way to and from Albuquerque we usually stop in Hatch for lunch. This is the first time we had stopped at Sparky's. What a neat place, very retro. The cook Jason is remarkable, cooks a great hamburger. We had the famous green chili cheese hamburger. I fully recommend you stop by there and order it. We shall return.

Stopped in Hatch to eat some green chiles during lunch. We waited in line to get into Sparkys but it was worth it! Excellent food and a really fun atmosphere. The green chile cheeseburgers were excellent as were the sides. The fresh corn off the cob with green chiles in it was the best I've ever had. They also had... More

If you are traveling on I-25 from El Paso north or south toward El Paso, this place is only about two miles off the interstate. Campy with a real sense of humor, yet the green chili cheeseburger is really, really good. Almost a required stop on our trips. (Skip the shakes, though)

This is the place you take your guests when you want to impress them! Over and over I've heard "This is the best burger I've ever had" and on the weekend afternoons you can also hear great local music. The owner is always around to make sure everyone is happy and content. Plenty to look at, but the food is... More

Well it was only 95 and a 15 minute wait to get in the door to order. There are misters and a small patch of shade. Everyone is happy and waiting patiently. The is big tub of water to keep the doggies going. Now if you know what you are doing send all of your group into the next two... More

We went down to Hatch to get some chiles and had to stop here. There are a lot of photo ops with all of the kitschy statues on the outside. Luckily the food lives up to the appeal of the outside. We had some chile burgers. They were really really good! We had our dog with us so we were... More

Be sure to get here early to avoid waiting in line. If you go in the summer, which is basically from late April to early October in this area of the country, be sure to bring sunscreen in case you have to wait outside to get in. Once you get in and order, you can seat yourself in one of... More
