The first thing you'll notice about Sparky's is the decor. Lots of pictures and memorabilia every where. It's really a cool looking place inside and out. Take the time to really look around. The next thing you'll most likely notice is that it's going to be busy if it's around lunch time. That is to be expected though if you've... More

Sparky's is the restaurant that people travel to get to, and for good reason. Their "world famous" is a green chile cheeseburger that is second to none. It tastes and smells as if it was grilled on an outdoor barbecue. The cheese is gooey and the chile is perfect. Not too hot for those who rarely partake of green chile.... More

We stopped at Sparky's on our way back from Tucson to Amarillo. We had noticed it on our way to Tucson but the time of day was not conducive to eating at the time, so we vowed to stop on our way back through. We weren't disappointed! Though parking is a bit of an issue, it is certainly worth the... More

For the most part the green chili cheeseburger was ok. I've had better and I've had worse. The big surprise was to find they don't serve with any lettuce and tomato which is a deal breaker for me not ever going back. I thought at first they just missed it since the person in front of me ordered hers without... More

We stopped here on a whim a year back and my taste buds had a party that I could remember all year. So this month I packed up my family and we drove two hours just for their hamburger. And yes, it was worth the drive. The meat makes the difference. It is perfectly cooked and seasoned like nothing u... More

Bar-b-que brisket is excellent. Green Chile Cheeseburger is in top two or three in America!!!! The pinto beans and green chile corn are out of this world!!! If you are anywhere near Hatch, NM, stop and eat at Sparky's.

I go to Sparky's every 6 weeks or so and usually have a fabulous meal, but not on July 10th. Not sure what happened, but food and service were off. Ribs were not right (not cooked like usual), lady taking order would not let me order what I usually get, slaw side was filled about 2/3 full.... The person I... More

I had to stop by on my way home from a business trip because I had heard so much about this place. It was well worth the detour from the interstate! I loved the green chile cheeseburger so much I had to call my wife to tell her and ask if she wanted me to bring home one to-go. She... More

I travel NM extensively and have found no better barbeque, brisket or chile cheeseburgers than Sparky's. Large, juicy burger, cooked exactly the way you request and with the best, freshest Hatch Green Chile there is. I could go on and on, but the service is great and you just have to check it out yourself. The atmosphere is pretty crazy,... More

NM State Road 28 has long been a local bikers cruise from El Paso, TX thru Pecan orchards with trees connecting to make a cool (temp drops in the cools shade!) green tunnel and green fields of alfalfa & cotton. The reward at the usual turn around is Sparky's! Hatch is not on the way to or from anywhere so... More
