Breakfast ok but not fab

We stopped at the El Rancho since we have passed it on some trips back and forth across the country. It was breakfast time since we stayed overnight in Gallup. I would say it was average for breakfast. The service was great but the food was pretty much what you can get anywhere in New Mexico.

I ordered the breakfast taco and was surprised at it's size. It fit the plate. The potatoes were very good home fries.

Servers are very friendly. It's a family friendly place. Our food was good and seemed to be made from scratch. The menu is a good read while you're waiting, and it may be the biggest piece of paper menu you'll see.

Blitzing east on I 40 between Las Vegas and Santa Fe, we stopped for dinner at El Rancho. The hotel lobby alone is worth the stop. What a blast from the past. Although there was nothing fancy about the restaurant, the meal was super. We had the chicken enchiladas special with red and green chili, along with a top shelf... More

We had a late supper and drinks. It was a slow, Sunday night. Good service. Food was good sized portions and about what I expected for this type of restaurant. Drinks were good.

We started our lunch late- it was approximately 1:30, and things seemed to be winding down. We had salsa and chips, and then chicken enchiladas , beans and rice, and beef tacos. Overall, standard Mexican fare. With two soft drinks, and without tip- $28. We patronized the bar later in the evening and the margarita's were wonderful!

Riding on I-40 we have seen many advertisement and decided to ride there for a lunch. we were happy to visit and see this iconic place where lots of American film stars stayed and dined. Highly advise to this who travel by Route 66

Driving though Gallup at dinner time. I saw the El Ranch and could tell it had history written all over it. Really it had history written all over it telling you how long and famous the place was. Normally I check with Trip Advisor first first but this time I took a chance. Nice quiet relaxing restaurant. I have the... More
