Historic Stay

Food was wonderful, but service was poor. Lots of choices on the menu. Server was not back to fill glasses, etc. on a regular basis.

The Mexican food was great. My husband was disappointed they didn't have filet. They did have ribeyes. Staff was friendly and courteous. Drinks were good. A little over priced.

We had dinner here. The waitress was quite helpful and suggested we share a meal as it was quite large. She was right, we shared and it was perfect!

On previous travels through Gallup I have always wanted to stop and explore. The El Rancho proved to be very historic and well worth the stop. I had the Mexican combination plate and it was excellent. They had a large number of selections on the menu including Mexican food and sandwiches.

if your travels take you through Gallup, this is a must stop! So much history here and the menu is varied enough to satisfy any appetite. Also great margaritas!

My daughter and I wanted dinner on a Sunday evening and we didn't want to eat at a chain restaurant. El Rancho was authentic and colorful.

We really enjoyed eating here. The food is ok, but a little overpriced for Gallup, NM. The lobby is beautiful and fun to walk around. They have an elevator that is so old that it doesn't have buttons and one has to ask the front desk clerk to run it. Of course my kids loved that! It is fun to... More

The setting is from a by-gone area of the 1930's. Picturesque and fun. I thought the food was very mediocre at best but others in our group said it was fine.

Stayed at the hotel a number of years ago and enjoyed it. Stopped here for lunch on a drive from Phoenix to Santa Fe. Loved the salsa and chips, salsa spicy at great. Share a taco plate of chicken and beef tacos. Not great but tasty. The restaurant is in a memorable hotel worth stopping to look around.
