Great Food and Hand Crafted Jewelry as a bonus

We were driving through Gallop after a trip to the Grand Canyon and decided to stop for a late lunch. The restaurant is right on Historic Route 66 and since we were trying to experience the Mother Road on our vacation it seemed fitting. We were warmly greeted and seated quickly. We both ordered the... read more

Wonderful food and wonderful service. Friendly staff and the restrooms and restaurant are immaculate. Would stop again.

Had a quick overnight stopover in Gallup and wanted "Mexican Food" and a margarita to end the day. This place was easy to reach from the hotel. Service was friendly and the food tasted good. Filled up on homemade guacamole, which is what I wanted. The margarita was not the best I've ever had, but I have no complaints. People... More

The margaritas were a mix and not good and the good part was the waitress took it off the bill. The food was not good. Would not go back here even though it seems like an old resturant

I have gone to this fine restaurant for years, I have to say Archie and his wonderful family have done a great justice for Gallup for putting out some great food over the years. I don't live in Gallup any more but every time I'm there I enjoy one of the things I love of my roots. Thank you,

Went with the recommendations from Trip Advisor. We were not disappointed! Chips and salsa were good. Staff very friendly. I had the best chicken burrito ever, and it was almost as big as my head. Husband had shredded beef tacos. Said they were delicious. He thought the beans and rice weren't that good though. People did stop by to sell... More

Nice to get Mexican food like our Mother made. Chili is genuine New Mexico chili. The bischochitos are wonderful also when they are available.

Again checking my TRIP ADVISOR I found Don Diego's with favorable reviews so headed there for tonight's dinner. We were pleasantly surprised to find this Bano family run restaurant to be so busy..After enjoying our meal we understood why. The portions were delicious and generous, the salsa and chips very flavorable, the pitcher of ice water on the table readily... More

Feels like this was a very important restaurant at some time in the past. Service good. Food decent New Mexico style Mexican. I was excited to see fish tacos on the menu. Then I asked what kind of fish... Catfish? Yuck. Had to pass. Chili Relleno was decent.

The Sheepherder is good, marinated beef with onions & smothered in chili. & cheese. Crispy tacos are excellent! No refried beans here, whole pinto beans. Red & green chili are good & full of flavor. Carne is good. You always have a pitcher of ice tea at your table. Complimentary chips & salsa, which is good. The salsa is totally... More
