The food here is really really good, especially the sopapillas. The restaurant is not easy to find unless you use GPS or have a good map of Gallup. It is a must for folks who want really good New Mexican food.

We were in Gallup on the first night of our road trip. I had chosen a different restaurant for dinner but the gps didn't take us straight there. Then my uncle walked in someone else's home thinking it was the place. We did find the originally place but closed on a Saturday night ??? So we went with a our... More

This is a small, trendy restaurant, where native Dene's and others sell their trinkets to customers as they eat. The menudo is delicious combined with the hot sopapillas. When Genaro's isn't open, Jerry's (a similar restaurant) is right around the corner!

Very authenic local food, great service and a true NM experience. I was warned to go easy on the salsa, as it was a little hot, but tasted great and the sopapilla;s with honey completed our meal. A must visit if in the area.

Spicy nth degree. Tomato sauce or something like that ...... numbs the mouth for a long time. Mistress and cordial staff very helpful and attentive to people. Delicious treats. The only discordant note is the absence of beer or alcoholic beverages. Anyway. one of the best Mexican Gallup.

I've been going here since I was a kid & I can't get enough. Love the salsa. It's never too hot to stop eatting. A must have is the stuffed sopapilla. That is my favorit & always get it smothered in red & green. This is another one of my favorites to stop at when in Gallup.

I expected more than we found. The décor is minimal. The service was about average. Our enchilada and a burrito were below the average for Mexican restaurants near to our home in Oklahoma.

We really enjoy Mexican food, but on the mild side. When our server told us they had no mild sausa, we decided to go with minute portions of the served sausa, and it was HOT. We found the menu offerings somewhat limiting for our tastes, but what we ordered was good food, served quickly. We also enjoy beer with our... More

This restaurant seems like the "real deal" - authentic New Mexican food served in a friendly atmosphere. The salsa was wonderful also. Our server suggested putting the chile sauce on the side, and I'm glad he did as it is on the spicy side. He also suggested a smaller portion for me, something I really appreciated as I had no... Really good food. Quick and friendly service and good prices. I had the blue corn cheese enchiladas and they were very generous with the cheese and that's a must for me! They graciously allowed me to have the red chili sauce on the side since I don't do spicy stuff. I put a small amount of sauce on the enchiladas... More
