A long time establishment = GOOD FOOD

I have been dining at this fine restaurant since i was a child. Now i bring my family and my grandchildren to the best mexican food in Gallup. The atmosphere of the establishment is relaxing, clean. The food is a true NM tradition. Its like Ma homemade food. the salsa is very hot and yummy. Give... read more

This place is horrible. I live in south Texas and know Mexican food pretty well. I was ready for it to be diffrent . But this was a big difference it didn't even taste like Mexican food. You could tell EVERYTHING was canned, the worst was the rice it tasted like white rice and ketchup Gross! We only got three... More

really good Green Chile and authentic Mexican fare, worth leaving the main route66. Quick, friendly service and filled with locals...which is always a good sign. Would definitely go again when passing through Gallup.

usually a line out the door. I had the stuffed sopapilla and in my opinion it was not the best I've ever had. I could ding them on some stuff but I won't. They are a very popular place, limited parking options, cheap prices and quick served food. I don't really have any complaints but was having a hard time... More

The guacamole, beef, and green chile sopapillas is what I imagine genuine (New) Mexican food tastes like. Just heaven! The service is very friendly, run by a family who takes pride in their food. There is not much to do in Gallup, but its location along the historical Route 66 makes it a convenient stopover. In the retrospect, not trying... More

Real authentic Mexican food, not a chain, place was full of locals, Put the address in your GPS. Parking not easy but worth it.

I've eaten at Genaro's since the '80s, and, over the years, the restaurant has been enlarged and remodeled, but the casual atmosphere and the quality of their Mexican food has stayed the same--very good. Now I don't mean nouvelle cuisine or Santa Fe style, I mean plain, good food and lots of it. The stuffed sopapilla, for which they are... More

This is a truly authentic New Mexican restaurant. It is not the easiest place to find, but the crowded parking lot lets you know that the locals (of which I used to be one) love this place. The food is good, but hot for people not used to red or green. The service is good but somewhat perfunctory. However, if... More

Totally old school restaurant. Great food, tables are all in one room (we got a more private booth).

They are famous for there stuff sopapillas, of course everything on the menu is great. They also serve American food. Chips and salsa is a taste to your buds! Friday &... More
