Off the beaten path in Gallup

Made an effort to find this restaurant. I had the combination plate. The tamale was a little spicy for me but my husband loved it. No grease. The enchilada was good as well as the retried beans and taco. My husband had gennaro's stuffed sopapilla and he ate it all and really liked the red and... read more

We knew we were in the right place, as we were the only non-locals there. Service was great and fast. Food was authentic and tasty. It was definitely worth the stop in Gallup.

Love this place. It is very well visited by the Latino population which leads me to believe that I am getting authentic Mexican food. The salsa is hot and next time I had the combination platter I will ask 4 it on the side as the entire time I had tears rolling down my eyes lol. Also interesting vendors come... More

Started out at another restaurant but due to slow poor service we left. Ended up around the corner at Genaro's. The staff not just our server was excellent! Never had a half full glass, multiple people bringing extra chips, and other needed items. Lady, maybe an owner or manager couldn't tell checked in with us and had a friendly chat.... More

Food was mediocre, and if you wanted more salsa, you had to pay $2.99 for a very small cup. This is a neighborhood restaurant that would not receive our return visit.

This place is horrible. I live in south Texas and know Mexican food pretty well. I was ready for it to be diffrent . But this was a big difference it didn't even taste like Mexican food. You could tell EVERYTHING was canned, the worst was the rice it tasted like white rice and ketchup Gross! We only got three... More

The food is a true NM tradition. Its like Ma homemade food. the salsa is very hot and yummy. Give Genero's a try u... More

really good Green Chile and authentic Mexican fare, worth leaving the main route66. Quick, friendly service and filled with locals...which is always a good sign. Would definitely go again when passing through Gallup.

usually a line out the door. I had the stuffed sopapilla and in my opinion it was not the best I've ever had. I could ding them on some stuff but I won't. They are a very popular place, limited parking options, cheap prices and quick served food. I don't really have any complaints but was having a hard time... More
