Description: Not a chain, Badlands offers true New Mexico hospitality and taste- for those of you traveling through, it's the place where locals go when they want a meal that's truly a cut above the rest, and relax with friends and neighbors. There's no dress code...no pretentiousness...just beef that's been wet-aged for 21 days, cut in-house and cooked to order...combine these with an ice cold beer or excellent bottle of wine... and you've got the stuff a cattleman's dreams are made of!

We traveled from Georgia on the way to San Francisco and stopped in Gallup overnight. Our hotel recommended a restaurant located between a massage parlor and a adult movie place and after reading trip advisor we decided on the Badlands grill which was not that much further away. We were Pleasantly surprised. Everyone was extremely friendly and the ambiance although... More

Trappings a little back woods. Length and width of the menu, very sparse. But all around everyone is talking about get there for dinner. So we give it a try. Everything is top shelf. Top aged beef. Crème brulee. All a top shelf list for sure.

We stayed over in Gallup and were looking for a place to have a calm dinner with some real food instead of the road food we've been eating. Great looking place on the inside and had a great western chic look... being the cowboy I am I felt right at home. The waitress was really pleasant and was a hoot... More

We were expecting a local "cafe" style when we stopped in here. It was much nicer than that, and therefore a little more expensive than we had anticipated, but well worth it. The food was great!

My buffalo sirloin was perfectly cooked, tender, and topped by crisp thin onion rings. Salad and vegies were fresh and tasty. AND, it had an extensive, surprisingly good wine list. Perfect service. I'm not a C & W music fan, but their selections were not offiensive.

The Badlands Grill has high end fare like lobster, steak and game meat as well as the great american hamburger. The food is very good. Quiet and well appointed with intriguing wine and beer lists. Attentive and friendly waiters.

Had seen this bar and Grill mentioned as a AAA recommended stop for dinner, and we did so. We passed it once without seeing it, so turned around and finally spotted it. It doesn't scream "great eats, " but don't let it fool you. We were greeted pleasantly when we went in. Tables were nicely set, quite elegant from what... More

I love the steaks here. They can do steaks great. I'd stick to steaks though. If you ever have the chance, call ahead about 2 days for their "Tomahawk" bone-in rib eye. It reminds me of the Flintstones Rack of ribs. Too funny but it's amazing!! J'aime le steak ici! Très très délicieux. Je recommande le " Black Dalia" ou... More

Stopped in at the Badlands Grill while passing through town. It was a nice quaint restaurant. The wife had the special, a chicken fried stake, and I had the Bandito steak. The food was absolutely great and the atmosphere was very enjoyable. They had a pretty good selection of beers on tap, to include even some from Alaska. We ordered... More

I took my wife for a nice dinner for her birthday. We were very impressed with the restaurant. She had a steak and I had a stuffed burger. Both were very delicious! Our waitress were very friendly! All in all a great place to eat! My suggestion is that if you have a side of sweet potato fries with your... More
