Not a chain, Badlands offers true New Mexico hospitality and taste- for those of you traveling through, it's the place where locals go when they want a meal that's truly a cut above the rest, and relax with friends and neighbors. There's no dress code...no pretentiousness...just beef that's been wet-aged for 21 days, cut in-house and cooked to order...combine these with an ice cold beer or excellent bottle of wine... and you've got the stuff a cattleman's dreams are made of!

Adventurous Cuisine in a Small City

Staff was welcoming. The room is dark with a real Western feel. Nice wine list. Server was very friendly. Steak was perfectly prepared and sides were very good.

We had dinner there last night. The atmosphere was just what you want in a place named "Badlands Grill". From the moment we walked in the door we were taken care of. Our waitress, Felicia, was wonderful - friendly and attentive. Service was fast. Steak was tasty. The place is clean. One thing to note - beer and wine only.

My wife and I recently visited the Four Corners area and made multiple stops along the way. One of those stops was Gallup, NM. We travel a lot and often rely on TripAdvisor for restaurant recommendations in towns and cities we are unfamiliar with. Such was the case with Badlands Grill, which came highly recommended by TripAdvisor. We were not... More

We'd never been to Gallup before and were rather surprised at the limited dining options. The desk at the hotel recommended the Badlands Grill and we didn't have high expectations as we arrived. When we went in, the smokehouse aroma was very prevalent, which is a good sign for us as we do enjoy our BBQ. Before ordering our wine,... More

We were on another business trip in Gallup, NM. We have good memories of the Badlands from a previous trip and decided to have dinner there again. We requested the same server (Daryl) that we enjoyed on our last visit. He actually remembered us. Once again, our overall dining experience was very pleasurable and our dinner selections were great. Steak... More

From the time we walked in to the restaurant and smelled the wood fire smoke, till we paid our check we had wonderful service. The waitress was very professional, the food was tasty and hot. My sister had the lemon tilapia with garlic mashed potatoes and I had the 8oz bacon burger with blue cheese and sweet potato fries. I... More

We were traveling through New Mexico in our RV and stopped in the Badlands Grill just before closing on a Friday night. What a nice find! Very nice western atmosphere. We had an appetizer of stuffed green chili poppers that were awesome. My husband had a Badland BLT - Bacon, lettuce, Tomatoe and green chili peppers - delicious. I had... More

There was nothing exceptional or poor about this place. For the price, I'd say everything was average. However, if you are a senior, the smaller 6 oz filet at $27 was a good buy.

There are so many Goood reviews we chose to have dinner here. Lovely setting,,gracious welcome but poor table service. My husband's 8 oz sirloin was not a good value at $25, just ok. My 8 oz hamburger, $15, we were told was too thin to allow for medium rare cooking. Don't believe it was really 8oz. The salad was fresh... More
