Description: Not a chain, Badlands offers true New Mexico hospitality and taste- for those of you traveling through, it's the place where locals go when they want a meal that's truly a cut above the rest, and relax with friends and neighbors. There's no dress code...no pretentiousness...just beef that's been wet-aged for 21 days, cut in-house and cooked to order...combine these with an ice cold beer or excellent bottle of wine... and you've got the stuff a cattleman's dreams are made of!

We were travelling through on our way back to Texas from California, and saw that Badlands was ranked #1 in Gallup. Deservedly so; our server, Felicia, was very friendly and helpful, and the food (we both had steak) was really very good. I also had a lobster with my small steak, and that too, was excellent. That's a very good... More

Badlands Grill has amazing food. We went back both nights we were in town - great steak, pork, salads. It is an amazing gem and equal to any 5 star. Our waitress, Jenna, was great and guided us well.

I am a frequent traveler and a fan of a good steak dinner! Every city I travel to, I most always seek out the best steakhouses or places that serve steak. I live near Gallup, so I have tried every restaurant who claim to know how to cook a good steak. 95% are all false claims; it was 100% until... More

Surprised!!! Katrina our waitress was amazing, clean, well cooked and fantastic food! We thought maybe it would be more of a bar and grill, nope, actual dining experience!!! Amazing butter too!

Badlands has a delightful, rustic charm - a sort of 'cowboy chic'. The food is quite good - my wife had the sirloin steak and I had the Cesar salad with steak plus we split a dessert. The entrees were quite good. Not enormously large portions but certainly enough for dinner. The sirloin came with a tomato basil chicken soup... More

Visited as we were recommended to go there from the local hotel. Well worth the visit. Service from our host Claudia was first class although unfussy which was truly great. My steak was absolutely awesome. We didn't see anything locally that looked anything close to this restaurant, we were definitely not disappointed. Would visit again if in the area.

We had an awful experience dining at the Badlands Grill. I am white, and my husband is Navajo. We have three children. We were brought 2 pieces of bread while the other two-party tables around us were being brought a full loaf of bread. Our appetizer never came until after our meals, and we had to ask for it again.... More

Everything we ordered was great. The food was not cooked in extra oil, butter, or cheese, which i really like. I like to taste good clean food. 20-30 wines by the glass in 3 price ranges. ($6.50, $7.50, and $10). Not cheap, but I loved having a great selection. Katrina, our waitress, was excellent.

No bar, and the filet mignon was not the most tender we've ever eaten. But, the soup was excellent, as was the baked potato. The service was excellent, and the wine list was remarkable for this area. No liquor - it was a pity. We'd go back again.
