This is a very small local yocal hangout for older crowds. Burgers were freshly made not frozen. Very yummy. The female server was very nice. She did get a little overwhelmed when the place started to fill up all at once. Seemed there was no other servers. A little boy was bussing tables. Did not try the ice cream. Prices... More

The food was OK but the ice cream was a cheap, tasteless formula with ice crystals in it. S There was so local cop who went behind the counter and filled his own cup without ever washing his hands. Disgusting. Staff never attempted to stop him. Then he loudly complained to other locals about his boss and a coworker. It... More

You don't have just a huge array of options driving through this part of New Mexico. This is a modest local burger and classic sandwiches type place. The staff was extremely efficient and personable, especially considering the punishing amount of drive through orders they were completing. Our food was fast, basic, great! We really enjoyed watching the locals come in,... More

We stopped here after visiting Billy the kid's gravesite. They have a good menu selection and decent service. It was nice to see them open as over the years there are not many choices in Ft Sumner. A good casual place to eat like the old small town diners of yesteryear.

On the right side in the middle of Ft. Sumner on US 287. Closed on Sunday. On my way to Albuquerque I make it a point to stop to get this one of a kind green chili cheeseburger. No hamburger I've ever eaten in my life can match this one. Also they've got great 1 hour malts/shakes, named so because... More

There weren't too many places to eat as we were driving through, but Dairiland hit the spot. Their burgers and shakes were good. The frito pie was ground beef (not chili), but it was still tasty - just don't expect chili. Not too many healthy options, but someone was eating a salad that I must have overlooked. We'd stop again... More

We stopped here recently for lunch. The green chili burger was great. This is an old fashioned place where you are greeted warmly; and, treated like your business is appreciated.

We were a little confused when we pulled in; we couldn't figure out where the door was, then we realized it was a drive thru! The workers there were laughing at us, but were nice about it! We got a huge cup of ice cream and the employee gave us a sample of the cotton candy flavor, which was super... More

After visiting Billie the Kids grave site near Fort Sumner we decided to try the local burger joint. It is more of an aluminum shed rather than a regular building. They have a drive thru and an indoor seating area. We choose the drive thru. The lady came out to the car and took our order which was a hamburger... More

There is not a lot in Fort Sumner, but we stumbled upon the Dariland and fell in love with the ice cream and shakes! Highly recommend it! One of the guys in our part had a hamburger and said it was OK - but the ice cream and shakes are yummy and taste so fresh. Had to go back both... More
