What we call "Spanish" food up here in Northern New Mexico is the kind of food La Cocina serves. Spanish food is some of the best vegetarian food around: pinto beans, posole (hominy), chile, tortilla, cheese enchiladas. Excellent. But not at La Cocina. They put meat in everything -- their chile (red and green), posole, etc. They have no vegetarian... More

A good place to get New Mexican food in the north with a nice atmosphere. The inside is nicely decorated, and a guitarist was playing. Had someone with gluten and dairy allergies, and they were very attentive to the needs and specifing what could be eaten. Food seemed pretty standard. Of course, they have Sopapillas!

I received really attentive service throughout my meal. I noticed as new customers were seated, they were given some table choice which is always nice. I ordered a combo plate with a relleno and carne adovada. The relleno was excellent! The adovada had good flavor and was really tender. A few of my pieces seemed dryer than the rest. I... More

The food was very tasty, and reasonably priced and while the restaurant was crowded (being Saturday night) the service was good, the waiter cheery. I wish I had listened and got the small portion but loved the left overs too. Very nice.

Convenient pleasant spot in a town with few dining options. Attentive service; nice, closed in patio for outside dining.

We stopped for dinner here while driving through town. The waitress that served us was unfriendly!!! We enjoyed the food- especially liked the carnitas burrito, posole and free sopapillas for dessert. Be warned- if you order iced tea it's instant. My son loved it, but it wasn't tea to me.

Excellent northern New Mexico restaurant. This is an authentic New Mexican restaurant with fresh food. Really tasty chile, both red and green. You need to ask which one is hotter, because when they say hot, it means really hot. They serve breakfast all day - this is a really nice bonus!! Highly recommend it.

We were staying in espanola and had made a trip up to the bandeiler cave dwellings and needed food. So on TripAdvisor we went and found this place. The food was amazing I had a stuffed sopapilla it was amazing. My friend also had the Lamb Burrito and raved about (the place is known for their lamb). The sopapilla we... More

and so did we! We reached Española around lunch time while driving the High Road from Taos to Santa Fe. Searched for a lunch spot on TripAdvisor and La Cocina was highly rated. The rating is well-deserved. We split the Carnitas - it was very good and plenty for two. Most people sat inside but it was a great day... More
