Local generations of New Mexicans always stop at Jo Ann's when in Espanola. Not fancy, sort of a Hispanic diner. Do not confuse this with Tex Mex, mexican, or generic Chili's food. New mexican cuisine is an art. Breakfast is always good and sopapillas are always fresh made. Slightly slow service at times, but mostly satisfies at modest family prices.... More

Great southwest food. Friendly atmosphere. We stopped for lunch on our way from Santa Fe to Taos.

We went there twice last weekend since some friends recommended it to us. We were there one time for lunch and the second for breakfast. We loved the food and the service. Authentic New Mexico food, great taste, great service. They can prepare special requests for vegan or vegetarians. We were able to meet JoAnn, the owner, a SUPER SUPER... More

Great food, great prices, great service. They even have half-portion plates.

Now its just another not -too- great Mexican restaurant. I used to have one of their Love at First Bite bumper stickers on my car. Not any more. Last couple trips were disappointing.

Dropped in late one afternoon between Christmas and New Years so I didn't get a feel what it might have been like during a busier lunch or dinner. Service was friendly and attentive. Food was prepared well and quickly. As a vegetarian I appreciated that there was a vegetarian option for almost all the New Mexican dishes. Prices were good... More

All of the restaurants in Espanola serve New Mexican food and we found several of them with good reviews. We chose Joann's, where we were seated in a big roomy booth and enjoyed good food at a good value, very pleasant atmosphere and excellent service.

This was the worst breakfast that I have ever had! It was so bad that I didn't eat it. The eggs were old and watery (tasted like powdered eggs), the beans were from a can and the hashbrowns were uncooked. The presentation was strange, it was served a la carte but it looked like a meal on the menu. I... More

The green breakfast burrito was yummy! However, the sopapilla was absolutely the best I have ever had!

JoAnn's makes great New Mexican food. This is essentially a diner, not an upscale restaurant. The food is awesome and the chili is the best around. You can find many vegetarian options. The chili is usually vegetarian. Calling all Yogis: try the Yogi Soup. This is a soup that was made especially for Yogi Bhajan, the Kundalini Yoga master that... More
