I've been visiting Dixon since I was a young boy, so I was never quite old enough to truly enjoy all of the tastes of the Southwest until recently. The La Chiripada winery next to La Casita Guest House has always been a family favorite of ours since our visits in the late 1980s-2000s, so it was a lovely surprise... More

We stopped by after a rafting trip (they are located across the street), and it is a very small and cute place. They have a very small indoor seating area (4-5 tables), and very small outside patio area. It is quaint and you can sample the beer, and they do have a small wine collection. They have some basic food... More

We went on a Friday night and they had a great blue grass band playing outside under the canopy. Good beer and they also serve Vivac wines. Definitely worth a stop, see and taste.

We enjoyed a cold one after our raft trip, they are right across the street from New Mexico River Adventures! Very convenient. They also have live music in the evening.

We were so excited to find this little microbrewery across form the New Mexico River Adventures office. We walked over and tried a sampler. As an awesome bonus, there was a bluegrass band playing. Our best afternoon in NM!

After our rafting trip, my family walked across Hw 68 to Blue Heron. The flight of their brews was truly impressive: 2 distinct IPAs, a red, an amber and a Scottish ale. Live bluegrass on the back patio to top it off

Fun place for a laid back happy hour on Friday nights. Singer-songwriter-guitarist played for several hours on their back patio and along with good beer, they served La Chiripida wines.

Wonderful hand crafted beer in a nice little building on the side of the highway. There is a nice outdoor seating area and you can order a single glass or try a 5 taste flight. Friendly service and great tasting beer. Homemade root beer too!

This little brewery is an absolute gem and should not be passed by. They have 2 spectacular IPAs, a wonderfully crisp Pilsner and great seasonals (don't miss the Imperial Stout in the winter). We enjoy the music on the deck all summer and great friendly atmosphere. Just a great Brewery!

We always make a stop at Blue Heron Brewery on our way to or from Taos. The have a great variety of beer on tap with our favorites being the IPA, the Embudo Gold and the Porter. They also pour wine from La Chiripada that is fantastic and offer a delicious local cheese and salami plate that will tide you... More
