Outstanding food in an out of the way, easy to miss, cash only restaurant. Its also BYOB. The chile rellenos, sopapillas, and chile verde are all outstanding.

With the sad closing of Martin's store, El Rito is a one-stop town, but if you are in the area at lunchtime, that stop is worth the trip. On a recent visit to Northern New Mexico we enjoyed great meals at a variety of restaurants, but the tastiest was at El Farolito. Just allow extra time to get here as... More

This little place in the tiny town of El Rito is charming and friendly. The food is very tasty NMx Mexican plus burgers etc. Try the fresh made pie too! Yup, picnic tables, uneven flooring and outsider art with copies of critic's reviews from the mayors on the walls!! All good. Place was started by the father of the current... More

The food was very good and at a reasonable price. The place is very small so be advise to arrive early. I had the green tamales and they were good.

The burgers, smothered burritos, stuffed sopapillas, taco, and just everything thing is good. The thing I like most about the Faro is their salsa. It is very good and different from any other salsa I have ever eaten.

A tiny little restaurant in a tiny little town. The best Chile Rellenos in the state of New Mexico. We locals love you, Faro, but we see lots of visitors thanks to a mention in the Rand McNally road atlas a few years ago. Green chile cheeseburgers, chile cheese fries, red enchiladas, sopapillas, even Mexican hot chocolate. Come on down!

The place has a couple of tables in the dining area and is a dive of a place - the kitchen is as big as my closet. However, the food is wonderful. I had the frito pie and my friend had the beef enchilada with red chili. In some other places, I have had a frito pie that is unbearably... More

I found El Farolito after a days climbing at the nearby El Rito Climbing area. My local climbing partner recommended going there for a meal. I was really put off by the outside appearance but once the food arrived I was amazed. A simple menu but such good quality delicious food - a great end to a great day. When... More

We loved Farolitos. The restaurant is perfect in jeans and a t-shirt. The atmosphere is very casual and the food is great. It's a good value for your money.
