Worth the wait for great Northern New Mexican cuisine

I never intend to go to Taos and not eat at Orlando's. Yes, the place is tiny and there is a wait and it can exceed an hour on a busy weekend (and we were there for President's Day -- on a Monday when half of the good/great restaurants in Taos are closed). Grab a beer and wait at the... read more

Thanks Steve for coming in. Glad you had a good time. Wish we could afford a liquor license, in NM they cost 400k and just north of us in Colorado you can get one for 2k. ???. Say hi next time you come in. Orlando. More

This one's short-been here dozens of times in my home town, Taos. Tonight I had La Reina-a dinner that included one rolled cheese enchilada and two pork chulettas (carne adovada) with caribe, posole and pinto beans-relish! Of course, I am a small eater, so I had to take half of it home, but the enchilada was perfection with a blue... More

Overall an excellent meal with decent service. Enjoyed the local atmosphere and local cooking. Had chicken fajitas and an order of three different enchiladas. The guacamole was very good.

We enjoyed our meal at Orlando's. It was recommended by some of the locals who stated that the food is like your gramma would make with passed down family recipes . We were there later on a Sunday night so did not have a wait and practically had the place to ourselves. Food was very good. The blue corn enchiladas... More

This little New Mexican restaurant is always one of the best for traditional food. My favorite chile rellenos in the world with the best of the best red chile.

this restaurant was recommended and only about 1 mile out of the Plaza/Downtown area. We had shrimp enchiladas, beef, chicken & cheese enchiladas with beams and pasole. Small place where the locals hangout it appears and the price is right. We recommend highly. Get there by 7pm as the place fills up quickly.

Went to Orlando's for lunch, where I had a good burger, cooked med. rare, with crisp fries, good green leaf lettuce, tomato slices, plenty of pickles, and a thick red onion slice. I sat at the bar with filtered sun bathing me, which formed a nice environment. When I sat down before noon, it wasn't very busy and the waitresses... More

Thanks for coming in and Im glad you had an overall good experience. Thanks for letting me know about the chipped plate. I immediately asked Rafa (kitchen manager) to go thru all plates and 86 chipped ones. Hope you visit us again. Orlando More

We had Chile Relenos that were very good. Skip the shrimp and get 2 chilies instead. The service was very good and even though we arrived just before closing they were very gracious and did not try to hurry us out

Locals spot...great food for minimal price. Hard to find in the dark but ask anyone & they can direct you. Well worth the wait to be seated. Will definitely return on our next trip to Taos.

This place exudes all that Taos New Mexico is to me. Individuality, quirky, beautiful, eclectic, and friendly. The food...fabulous. Well rounded menu but I go there for their Posole...it's a "build it yourself bowl"...and I order it with chicken, green chili, cheese, guacamole, sour cream, lettuce and tomato. The portions are so generous...we order just one bowl and share it... More
