The posole!

The posole is the real deal - not on the menu but always available as a special - we always stop there to eat a bowl.

I have eaten here probably four times over the past couple of year. Many locals eat here and I love the local atmosphere. They are friendly and helpful. Small town food at it's best. By the title guess what type of food? Let's just say it's the kind I like.

I love local diners and this is a great one. I got off I-10 while driving through NM and stumbled upon this place. I seemed to be the only stranger but was given a warm and friendly welcome. The food was excellent and reasonably priced. Nice conversation with the waitress that is always nice when traveling alone. I will definitely... More

if you want menudo go to El Mirador or the Bel Shore. Good menudo...don't pass it up. Great bread too.

I stopped here on a drive through New Mexico. I always look for chili rellenos and sopapillas. This place had good reviews (somewhere else). Strictly average. The relleno sauce didn't have much flavor and there was too much batter. Sopapillas were dry.

We received great service at this hole in the wall restaurant. Don't let the appearance keep you from stopping here. The food is really good. I liked the chips but the salsa was a bit hot for me. My better half loved it. This is obviously a local favorite.

I had a $7.00 breakfast of chilaquitos which was very good & satisfying. Plenty of parking for a truck & trailer in the dirt lot just west of the restaurant. A local favorite. I will eat here again !

We stopped on the way back to Tucson and were looking for something more than the row of chain places along the freeway. Right there on the main street (Pine) we found El Mirador and were very pleased. Quick friendly service and the food was great. Nice spicy salsa to go with the homemade chips. We had excellent chili rellenos... More

Driving from New Mexico on Labor Day, El Mirador was one of the only Mexican restaurants open for dinner. The chiles rellenos were excellent and the price and service too.

El Mirador might just be worth looking at and not visiting if judging by their "gorditas" and no I do not mean some of the ladies that may be in the restaurant. I am referring to their shred beef gorditas which were way too greasy. I could hardly taste the meet. Also, they skimped on the cheese. Thankfully, the beans... More
