Breakfast

This is a late post, but the food was good and had reasonable prices, will go again. Small but very friendly staff, really liked the homemade donuts.

We randomly chose this restaurant for breakfast after realizing our first choice was no longer in business and were quite pleased with our decision. I had the Spanish omelet consisting of green chile, onion and cheese and accompanied with fried potatoes and toast. The omelet and potatoes were outstanding! I also like that the coffee was served in large coffee... More

Restaurante El Mirador is closed Sundays, but the six days it is open, it serves large piping hot comfort food. We had the pesole served with shredded cabbage and thinly sliced radishes along with the menudo. They are some of the best you will ever have and you will not leave hungry.

Stopped here on our trip from Austin to Tucson. Looked for the place with the most cars in front. Older restaurant but smelled wonderful. I had the number 5 taco plate and my wife had the stack enchiladas. Both were awesome! Fresh salsa and chips made daily. The hot sopapillas and honey topped off an awesome meal. The wait staff... Breakfast was amazing, huge portions & fast service, even with a near capacity floor. Staff was courteous & friendly. Not a single bad thing to say.

We visited El Mirador for a late lunch. It was authentic Mexican. The lunch was great but the sopapillas were awesome. They had a different taste. I think they were wheat. They had a light cinnamon dusting. Very good. We will definitely visit again.

Service was friendly and fast but the food was poor, bland, and tasteless. Enchiladas in green sauce with chicken was barely edible. Burger too salty to eat. Orderd a side of sour cream to choke it down and they charged half the price of the entree for it. Sorry, nice folks but bad food.

We stopped for lunch today (5/12) and ordered the following: Me – Albondigas (I thought the soup was very tasty, but could have been a bit hotter), it came with a half a slice of lime for accoutrements and that was all… Wife – Chile rellenos (Number 11 on the menu I believe) my wife didn’t like the breading but... We were on a road trip which took us by Deming, and we needed to eat lunch. Even though they had closed, this restaurant opened up and served us, and the food was good!
