Breakfast find

Great little hometown diner with an historical story. Food good and plenty. Wait staff is friendly and attentive. Nice place half way stop that we plan every trip.

Passing through on our way to Colorado. Friendly staff, good food. Red chile sauce was spicy so order the Christmas sauce so it's mixed with the green sauce.

The Mexican Combination dinner I had was pretty good. Authentic taste. The Guacamole was fresh. Chips were fine. The salsa that came with he chips was the worst I have ever had ever. Tangy, tastes and smelled and tasted like it was spoiled. I will give it another try but just watch the Salsa

Husband had a smothered burrito covered in red and green chili. He loved it, but I could tell it was hot by the color of his face. My hand held burrito was very good. Highly recommend stopping if you are ever in Clayton,NM

We stopped in here on our way to Colorado. It is a neat little hometown place. I had the chicken fried steak, it was a big steak with fries.. It came with a salad. I was stuffed when we left. The madam had a Spanish dish of steak, rice and beans.. I hear their breakfast are the best. I recommend... More

We ate here for dinner when passing through Clayton. We were not impressed. The wait staff was friendly. The food was not great. Portions are smaller than average/normal size portions for an adult. We had to ask for chips & salsa and I had to ask for the side (extra 1.25) of sour cream & guacamole I ordered. Even the... More

Picked restaurant because of the good tripadvisor reviews and our travel plans took us through town at lunch time. Was there at end of noon lunch period, good crowd but plenty of open tables. Ignored us until we spoke up several times that we would like a table, kept us standing in corner for 10 minutes before finally seating us.... More

We got there after some road time checked in said a few minutes, no problem. Was seated in a few minutes then it started. Waitress came gave us 5 menus, seated two other parties of two and three each that come in same time as us. In about 5 minutes noticed they got drinks, still sitting, another 5 minutes other... Great service and yummy food! A full menu of many authentic New Mexico choices. Sample the green and red sauce before placing your order--they are unique and a different level of spice. Our meal came with unsweetened sopapias--it is like what we call Indian fry bread. We ate it two ways--with our food as a scooper, and with honey and... More

Excellent New Mexican food - homemade and fresh! The chile rellenos were the best I've eaten, the Mexican Deluxe plate was way more than what I could have eaten but my husband ate every bite - just too good to waste. Only disappointment was they had run out of sopapias and weren't making more (it was close to closing time)... More
