You won't be let down

I visited this restaurant one other time many years ago. The experience was similar: fabulous authentic New Mexican cuisine with delightful surroundings. I will visit there every time I'm in the area. The chili relano's were the best.

Two words: Carne Adovada. Two more words: Red chile. This is our favorite New Mexican food restaurant, and we now make it a point to eat there every time we visit NM. My husband loves their combo plates, and I love their chicken tacos with red chile on the side. Did I mention the Carne Adovada? Don't forget to check... More

We had a family BDay here and this was probably the best NewMexican food, I've had. Try the stuffed jalapeños...wonderful, and the Chimayo cocktail for a wonderful version of a margarita. And the service was excellent.

A good friend of mine once said that visiting Northern New Mexico feels like leaving the United States, only you don't need a passport. Perhaps she heard someone else make this observation; but either way, I couldn't have said it better. This is the context in which I review the Rancho de Chimayo Restaurante. Whether staying in or passing through... More

Top honors for their Chili Rellenos-maybe the best I've ever had and I've had tons. Interesting house margarita with cinnamon and a slice of apple on the glass. Can't stop thinking about those rellenos. I hear the steak is out of this world. Lots of folks drive there just for the steak. I'm going back this weekend to give it... More

While visiting family during spring break we were driving through the area and stopped here for lunch. It had to be one of the best meals I have had in NM. The property and setting is marvelous and the food was exceptional. It's a tastebud memory to cherish!

We spent spring break traveling around New Mexico and I was determined to eat green chile for every meal. We visited the church in chitmayo and to get some of the healing sand. We stopped at a local restaurant called the Rancho de Chimayo for lunch. This is one of top eateries on my list during a week of traveling... More

This restaurant was recommended to me as the best place to eat in the area and I was not disappointed. The service was excellent and the margarita was honest! The food was excellent New Mexican cuisine with sopapillas served with the meal. Prices were excellent for the quality of food served. Don't miss this stop when taking the high road.

Historic restaurant with amazing local cuisine. We had Sunday lunch here and were pleased to see so many local families enjoying this restaurant. Green and red chile were superb, Margarita's on the rocks were the best we've had in NM. Service was warm and welcoming with helpful advice for our food challenged guest. Easy side trip on the way to... More

Went here on our 30th anniversary after visiting the Estrella del Norte winery. The winery told us about the place. Off the beaten track, which we liked, fabulous outdoor area, ability to hike some ridges behind the restaurant after eating- overall a fabulous experience. Menu is unbelievable- anything you could imagine with a Mexican food flare, great margs. Highly recommend... More
