Sit outside if you can

Since the closing of La Tertulia many years ago this is the place to go to for good NM food in a traditional outdoor setting. The drive out either through Nambe or Espanola is wonderful. The restaurants's patio is lovely and the NM food is some of the best and most traditional.

We tried a combo plate with a pork asado, tamale, enchilada & posole, which was great! Each sampling was better than the the shrimp, blue corn enchiladas. The sangria & guacamole were both outstanding!! And the sopapillas with honey... Oh my word....

We have visited this restaurant every time we're in the area. This last time, late August 2015, we were a party of four, and the restaurant was celebrating its 50th anniversary. However, surprisingly the food was not good. Perhaps the chef was incapacitated, but this was not even remotely close to the quality of food we had remembered and loved.... More

This restaurant gets excellent reviews and we were looking forward to dining there. The service was excellent and staff very capable. I ordered the salmon salad. The salmon was so over cooked it was flavorless and tough. Usually when I order salmon, I'm asked how I want it prepared. Not this time. I guess everyone assumes you want it well... More

I've traveled to this area since 1980 and never stopped at the restaurant until this August 2015. I was delighted. The location is easy to find if you've already found Chimayo. I sat on a patio with large umbrella. My food, tamale plate, was delicious and a sopapilla comes with the meal. They can accommodate large groups as well, so... More

This hidden jewel has been a favorite of mine for years. In fact, I would easily drive a few hundred miles out of my way just to eat there. If you are looking for a charming ambiance and incredibly succulent southwest delights. The staff are attentive and make sure you are well attended to. This place fills up quickly for... More

Tasty lunch in pleasant surroundings for very reasonable prices. New Mexico food. Don't miss the comida (lunch) specials on the last page of the menu.

Loved everything about this restaurant. The staff were so very friendly. I ordered the specialty (pork in chili sauce) and it was outstanding. Also had a marguerite and it was just as good. Wonderfully colorful atmosphere

My fourth time to eat in this restaurant. Food is very good, clean- very clean, enough wait staff to help you in all sort of things.

This is probably my favorite restaurant any where! We have visited here several times. The restaurant is celebrating their 50th anniversary. The terraced patio under the trees is the best place to eat. Such a nice atmosphere. The food is northern New Mexican style and delicious. Margaritas were good too. The staff was very friendly and efficient. The strolling musician... More
