The day we dined for lunch during the week (in October), there was a massive tour bus parked outside so I think that the place was a little overwhelmed with almost every table full. Nevertheless, the service was decent and the food was very good. I had very high hopes for this place and I wasn't disappointed. The pork adovado... More

Thought this was just a touristy place . But our food drink & service were great. Out of the way but worth the drive for an outing

Oh my...worth the drive. Lovely, scenic drive and the food NEVER disappoints. They do NOT skimp on the booze but not to the point undrinkable. Fast paced and always crowded but they are masters in getting you in and out. Lovely gift shop to explore. You MUST go here for some REALLY great food and drink!!! Staff is lovely!

If you take the high scenic route from Santa Fe to Taos, this is the place to stop for lunch. Great menu. We had the pork dish that had been marinating for 12 hrs. Delicious. Everything about the place is authentic, including family pictures on the wall. Light and airy sopapillas. This restaurant will spoil you.

This small community, outside Santa Fe, is so lovely....small, quaint, and unpretentious. Rancho de Chimayo is a wonderful stopping place for lunch during a visit. The menu is true New Mexico and the flan was delicious. There is an attached jewelry store with pretty pieces. A lovely day trip from Santa Fe.

I'm new to NM and had heard about Rancho when researching NM cuisine. From their story and history my expectations were high, I must admit. The setting in Chimayo is beautiful and the restaurant building itself is quaint. The food and service was a big disappointment. We had to wait over 5 minutes before anyone came to the table. The... We ate at this restaurant twice. I can't wait to go back. The Carne ado varda and stuffed jalapeños were outstanding. A nice touch were the sopapillas and honey to lessen the "good burn" while enjoying the food.

I was a little bummed to find that the newer, funkier, and also highly rated Sugar Nymphs Bistro was closed on Mondays and Tuesdays for our trip along the High Road to Taos. Rancho de Chimayo is the only other full service restaurant along the route. As it turned out, Rancho de Chimayo was the better choice in terms of... More

I have been going to New Mexico for many years and this is the first time I made it to Rancho de Chimayo, based on the book. The restaurant is really open floor plan with friendly staff. The food was freshly prepared and quick. I had the Carne Adovada. The taste was deep, rich, with a hint of spice. Great... More

Chimayo is on the high road from Santa Fe to Taos which is a beautiful and scenic drive. The restaurant has a warm atmosphere, a very attentive staff for seating everyone. Our favorite dish is the desert-homemade sopaipillas swimming in their homemade honey. It is very popular but there was no wait for a lunch table. This should be a... More
