Our beloved restaurant in the New Mexican countryside

---with buckets of good memories, authentic food and always welcome extras, like the sopaipillas. Very reasonable prices meant to attract people out here

A great meal! I was with my sister and a friend for my sister's birthday - Peggy was our server and she made our visit an excellent one! I ordered one of the vegetarian platters, and we shared some guacamole and chips; I also had a red sangria. The meals all arrived steaming hot. For dessert, I ordered their monthly... More

This restaurant has ample seating and a really nice atmosphere, an unexpected find in a rural location. We were seated pretty quickly and our waiter was attentive and pleasant. As a Santa Fe resident I may be spoiled when it comes to New Mexican food, but I found the meal here to be kind of bland, although very reasonably priced.... More

My wife and I ate here with relatives on a recent trip to New Mexico. Actually, we ate here a few times previously. After waiting a half hour or so, we were seated on a covered patio. Despite the ceiling fans, we found it very warm and not conducive to comfortable dining. My wife and I split a vegetarian enchilada... More

My family has been here countless times as I was growing up. We often vacationed in Northern New Mexico, and Rancho de Chimayo was always a must stop. I have many childhood memories of eating there and even though I have always lived hundreds of miles away, it always has felt a little like home. We recently visited again and... More

The place has seen better days. We have dined here dozens of times over a 30-year period and have usually driven away quite happy with the experience. Not this time. On arriving, after noting only a few cars in the lot and many open tables, we checked in and were told the wait would be an hour. Huh? We, and... More

We stopped for our supper meal at Rancho de Chimayo on our way into Santa Fe. Highlight of the meal was a carne adovada with posole. Unbelievable flavor, texture, and color. Just a knockout dish. We finished with flan and natilla. What a great way to start a vacation. Service started a bit choppy, but finished strong.

Recently I returned to enjoy lunch at the Rancho de Cimayo after 37 years! The restaurant and grounds were as delightful as a I remembered, and Imwas only sad that a bit of rain prevented is from eating outdoors. The indoor solarium, however, was charming, and the food as delicious as ever. I think prices are extremely reasonable for what... More

Nice clean surroundings, Spanish decor, good service. Have found Mexican food to be much of a muchness, but have to say, the flavours here stood out. Shrimp enchiladas and chicken tacos all well received. The ubiquitous Pinot Grigio was well chilled and not expensive. A good experience.

This restaurant is definitely off the beaten path but the food is worth the drive. Rancho de Chimayo is celebrating it's 50th anniversary this year so they are definitely doing something right. The restaurant is located in an old New Mexican ranch house and has a nice atmosphere. We ate lunch here on a week day and the dining room... More
