Really good food and service. A real surprise after a long train ride.

I wasn't impressed. The menu is very standard Mexican fare - burritos, enchiladas and quesadillas. While the prices were reasonable, the service was really sub-par with long waits for refills of drinks and for our entrees. The ala carte chicken enchilada, which is served with a sopapilla at$6.95, is certainly a good deal...if you're not in a hurry! Since I'm... More

I ordered the Chile Relleno's, they were OK, but not the best that I have eaten. My wife ordered the enchiladas and one Taco, she also thought that it wasn't the best that she had ever eaten. We both would still recommend this restaurant.

I had lunch at Pete's Cafe while in the area. I was a little wary of such a boring name, because I wasn't quite seeing "New Mexican food" from it. To be honest, the sopapillas were a little denser than I liked, and the rice a bit more plump and watery than I prefer. Other people might like it, though.... More

We were speaking and doing a book signing at the Harvey House Museum last Saturday and decided to have lunch at Pete's before we went on. I had forgotten how fresh and delicious their food is. All we can say is "yum." Rosanne and Phil Archuletta - Authors, Women Marked for History

Came here based on a neighbor's recommendation after sadly finding out that Harla Mays had closed. The portions are nice, but three members complained that their food was bland. I liked my chili releno and the green chili on the side was very tasty. My tamale was the most innocuous I've ever had. I don't know why the few eateries... More

So far I've only eaten the Chili Rellenos at this restaurant, but they were the best I've ever had. My co-worker had enchiladas and said they were excellent also. I'll make my way back to this place anytime I'm in the area. Maybe I'll even try some of the other offerings, maybe not. LOVE the Rellenos.

What a delightful find. Great food, lots of menu choices....& superbly attentive staff. We thoroughly enjoyed this little slice of heaven. There is nice ambiance, comfy seating sections throughout the restaurant and is not overly noisy....always a plus! The prices are reasonable, although a little high for the remote area.

My first trip to Pete's. The New Mexican food is fresh, plentiful without being too much. Service is above average. Lovely, comfy atmosphere. Wait staff is well trained and attentive. Spotless, very good New Mexican art, above par furnishings.

Ate there 6/30. Restaurant sits on side road several blocks off the main highway. There was plenty of parking when we arrived around 5pm, including some under a cover. Restaurant sits next to a free museum. It does not look like a typical Mexican restaurant from the outside. The lobby is nicely decorated in Southwest décor as is the dining... More
