You should enjoy the warm local dishes sitting on the terrace of the restaurant. The snow cap of the Himalayan ranges are often visible (in case of clear sky) from the open space in front of the restaurant

This is a good restaurant to stop at on the journey east, the food is good & there are wonderful views of the snowcapped Himalayas.

This was our first restaurant arriving from Paro airport as we were enroute to Punakha directly so had to pass Dochula. The day was foggy so we could not see the Himalayan peaks. (We had a return trip and had better luck with weather that later day) Food was served as a buffet which we soon learned was universal way... More

We stopped here for lunch on the drive between Thimphu and Punakha. When the clouds and the weather is in tune October and November) one can see a whole range of snow capped peaks of the eastern Himalayas. The food here was probably the best I had in Bhutan! In addition, if you are in to shopping for genuine Bhutanese... More

What made this restaurant a great place to have lunch are the spectacular views of the Dochla Pass. Food was good, not spectacular but the restaurant was clean snd service was good. Go for the views and the clean western type toilets.

The Dochu-la resort has very good location in between Thimphu and Wangdue. Also has beautiful views in nice weather. Unfortunately management here is poor, food is not tasty and it's better to avoid this restaurant except of using it's toilet and tea or coffee. In both Wangdue or Thimphu, you'll eat much better.

After a long drive from either Thimphu or Punakha its a good place to stop for a cup of coffee. The coffee/tea might not be as expected but its a good place to take a break and see the surrounding mountains on a clear day. The meals are basic like most Bhutanese restaurants.

The food was hot, very basic but the view overwhelmed everything; you can see wonderful views of hills-sky-clouds clearly with spiral windy road down. Surrounded by glass everywhere and with veranda sitting arrangement, in addition to roofed inside seating, you can have your pick to look around in the big binocular fixed at the porch. Life time experience.

This place is dirty, the people are rude (learn how to smile please) and the food is disgusting. Everything is either boiled or pre-frozen. This is not a resort. Stay away from this place. I can't even tell you how disgusting the rooms are (see my other review).
