Excellent authentic flavours from a menu that offers some of the classics and also new twists on old favourites. The food was smartly presented and often share-compatible if desired, the margaritas strong and tangy and a solid tequila selection is on hand for the adventurous. I spent 10 years on the south pacific coast of Mexico and I'm often disappointed... More

It's a long way from Mexico, but this place does great Mexican food. In the heart of seminyak, Lava Laca has a great atmosphere, friendly, attentive staff and genuine flavours... The slow braised chipotle lamb shank tacos are a must try among many other great dishes... Definitely worth a visit..

My husband and I dined here tonight and found the food to be very tasty! Service was excellent and the atmosphere was great. I highly recommend the Chicken Fajitas and the Fondino (not sure of the spelling). For dessert we had the chocolate brûlée which was very rich, but amazing. It should be served with cream or icecream to cut... More

We passed this place several times on our way to town from our villa and always had it pegged for some evening. When we went we were delighted with the menu, it had a great selection and was a bit different to the other Mexicans we'd been to around the world. For starters we had the albondingos and grilled corn... More

We had a really enjoyable meal here - every dish was full of fresh ingredients and really tasty. Service was warm and efficient, and there was a good selection of drinks. Our favourite dishes were the chicken tacos and cerviche tostaditas, but everything we tried was very good.

Seems to be lots of Mexican places in Bali, but this is the best place of them all. I am a big fan of Mexicana and Motel Mexicola, but Lacalaca is another thing altogether. It's smaller, but that's what makes it nicer, especially we were a group of us having loads of fun. The Lacalaca drink is mad fun too,... More

Great spot, great food, great service! Try the albondigas - amaze balls! The fajita was sizzling, the accompaniments plenty! But the Fundido - melted cheese, chorizo, tomatoes, chillies - was absolutely to die for! Great Margaritas and well priced Plaga wine - which is always a bonus! Viva la Cantina!!! We'll be back!

Real Mexican food. Fast and nice service. Good for a quick bite. Furniture and decoration create a Mexican 'cantina' feeling which enhances the experience.
