Wow. What else can I say. I visited Bali for a period of 7 nights and by the end of the trip we had visited the restaurant 5 times in the last 4 days. The staff went above and beyond to service our needs, the food was on our table in no time from ordering (piping hot and fresh!) It... More

Gateway of India is one of only a handful of Indian restaurants in Bali. The Balinese have really captured the taste and aromas of India at this eat in, or, take away. For anyone who has a penchant for Indian food, this is the Restaurant to dine at. Again, as a vegetarian, main dishes are abundant. Try the Malai Kofta;... More

Saw and heard rave reviews about this place but were disappointed by the quality and taste of the dishes. The decor is dated and simple and the fans on the terrase offered a nice breeze, but we were disappointed overall. I've had better food-court Indian food.

A great place to enjoy genuine delicious Indian cuisine. The 3 of us loved the samosas and beautiful chicen kathirolls for entree and Roghan Josh and Butter Chicken Tikka not to mention the wonderful naan! Although the decor is simple, one cannot fault the friendly and efficient service and beautiful food.

We were 2 Indian Families and when we asked the reason of not so Indianised taste, the answer from the senior staff was ..."We do not make food for Indian taste, it is more for non-Indians who come to Bali..." I think I can spend a little more bucks in another Indian restaurant walking distance from this place, but have... More

If you love your Indian head here for a cheap and flavoursome meal! I went with people who know their Indian and like a bargain......they were very impressed. Sure it's not grand but it's in a pretty busy street so plenty to look at. Afterwards we walked to the end of the road to the beach and back to Legian.

Fancying Indian one night we came here. The service was on par for a small restaurant in Bali, reasonably priced and, most importantly, the food was good. Properly cooked, really nice chapatti and naan breads and a very nicely cooked saag paneer (our favourite dish). I don't understand what the other reviewers were paying for but our meal of Saag... My partner (Malay Indian) and I wanted to try the Indian food in Seminyak, and living directly across the road from Gateway of India, we gave it a go....Oh dear.... 1. Samosa's were very nice, but that's as good as it gets, a very slippery slope then begins..We then had the chicken kebab, rolled chicken served with a mint sauce... More

As I watched the chef or more likely can driver fingered morsels of unseasoned chicken onto skewers I hopes that was for a dog rescue company Alas no ,the most tasteless unseasoned food was put I front of me to be joined late by vindaloo with sugar and rice cooked I to mash Lovely When I complained nobody spoke English... - We shared palak paneer and garlic naan for a quick lunch. Both were delicious and serving size was enough for two people - We have eaten here on previous trips and have never had a bad meal
