We suspected it would be spectacular and were not disappointed. Sipping sparkling Steenberg chardonnay at sunset and gazing at the glorious scenery in every direction, we would have forgiven them if the food had not lived up to it, but it did in every respect. A delicious, imaginative menu; we started with spinach custard, seared scallop & crispy quail egg,... More

We make a point of visiting the Restaurant at Waterkloof every time we are in Cape Town (and surrounds), and are never disappointed. The current tasting menu is a literal work of art, but remains full of flavor and is well priced considering the quality of prep and ingredients. This should be a top 10 SA restaurant, no questions asked.... More

After visiting various restaurants in the Somerset West and Stellenbosch areas, we chose to host our Rehearsal Dinner for 46 guests, many from the USA and Europe, at the Waterkloof Restaurant. Our preparations began 10 months ago and we liased with Jo-An, the Functions Manager, who was at all times happy to please and to meet all our specific requirements,... More

The visit at Waterkloof wassingle as it is, only this time I was invited and not paid - the invoice take your camera and bring no Appetite, that is the most important. Dishes such as Image, but I m in a Gallery or in a Restaurant ? For me is not to accept both as a local ! but as... More

A wonderful lunch at the end of a trip to Cape Town. Food was wonderful - best Springbok loin ever! Service attentive and friendly, setting was beautiful. All in all a great experience and one I would gladly repeat. Thanks to all who looked after us so well.

High up in the mountains waterkloof has a fantastic view over the mountains and the bay. The restaurant and winehouse is fabulous, mostly made from glass. The restaurant still! Has no right to sell alcohol at the tables!! Already many years they are struggling with the community to get the permission to serve wine at the tables!! Can you imagine?... More

Waterkloof has an absolutely breathtaking setting. Service was great but if you appreciate good food, do not eat here. They take beautiful ingredients and butcher them. The quail was dry and tough with no flavour and no balance. There were burnt pieces in the sauce. The springbok, their top selling dish, lacked flavour except for something exceptionally bitter on the... More

We first had a nice wine tasting. The lunch was delicious. The wines of Waterkloof Estate were perfect ("Circle of life"). Staff was very polite and dedicated.

There are so many recent bad reviews of this restaurant, that we almost didn't go. I'm glad we did. Everyone talks about the setting (unbelievably spectacular) so I would rather talk about the food and the service. All good. We chose the three course set menu, and had been told when we booked that we could bring our own wine... More
