Lunch at The Restuarant at Waterkloof

We booked lunch at this restaurant 22 Jan 2016. On arrival we were met by the friendly hostess and shown to our seats, which was in the glass section of the restaurant. We placed our order and waited in anticipation for our starters . They arrived and all I can say is Wow - they looked really... read more

From the drive up the Waterkloof estate road, where you first glimpse the impressive building, to entering this amazing space. It all brings it together so well. They have very impressive views of the mountain and the sea. Through a glass wall you can see the grapes going into the press and you know it's a working farm. The food... More

The vieuw is breathtaking, the wine is exellent, the food also, but the portions are hilarious...way too small. small is beautifull, i agree....but we go to a restaurant because we want to eat....not really interested in a painting on a plate...also the duck was overcooked...

The view of False Bay was amazing. One can see right around False Bay over Strand and Gordons Bay. The coffee was good the usual choice. The wine tasting is very informative and interesting. The wine is good too.

I ate here a couple of weeks ago with a friend of mine as I had visited previously and been very impressed by the dramatic approach and stunning view. The building is fantastic in its design and execution. We were shown to our table which was ok ( we had booked the day before so didn't get one of the... More

I personally found the the grotesque lump of glass and concrete to be a blot on the magnificent landscape but as this is a restaurant review and not an architectual discussion I will refrain from commenting further. Interior was pleasing and cool on an abnormally hot day and whilst the menu was minimalistic as were the portion sizes I have... More

Light, bright with views of the ocean. Perched on the hillside, the restaurant is impressive from below, like a huge glass box. Good disabled access and charming staff. The amuse consisted of 2 blobs of salmon mousse, plus 2 other blobs both not memorable. All the dishes are beautifully decorated and if you like tiny portions of beautifully presented food... More

My Belgian associate invited my partner and myself at Waterkloof. We ordered the degustation menu and wines (and did have extra wines before and after). The food was perfect. Although the portions are small, you feel 100% when you leave. Service isn't organized and not matching the food. This is the only thing to be improved (my gf runs a... More

We have eaten at this fine dining restaurant on several occasions and have never been disappointed. The views are unique from the elevated restaurant and tasting room, with magnificent mountain and vineyard views and beautiful panoramic vistas of the ocean also. Excellent wines and food. Highly recommended.

Second visit and I am a serious foodie.Once you have overcome the beautiful drive up to the Restaurant and the spectacular views from it.It is the food that counts. Many of us have been through the picture on a plate era but at Waterkloof they are truly food artists. Everything on that plate is seriously thought out to create the greatest... More
