Great stopover

We were en-route to Montagu for the weekend and stopped over for a late lunch. I had the bobotie wrap R55, my hubby had the chicken curry &rice R60. Cappucino was delicious. We didn't have time to enjoy the cake but bought pineapple danish and a apple danish take-away which we only had the next... read more

This restaurant is on the premises of Rooiberg Winery and next door to the wine tasting venue. Having often driven past the winery we decided recently to stop and try a wine or two. The big red chair is a landmark that is difficult to miss and we were glad we made the stop. It is so easy to just... More

This is a beautiful restaurant. Sitting outside with the breeze blowing is equally beautiful. The wine is so cheap, it is a steal. We tried the Finch River bubbly today with its golden packaging and it complemented the Chicken Almondine famously. This is a wonderful dish: chicken breast stuffed with chicken liver, wrapped in bacon and smothered in the most... More

This is a place you must try if you are passing by at lunch time. Excellent home made food and bread with some seriously good value wines. The atmosphere is friendly and the service is great. We'll be back!!

We arrived at the restaurant 15 minutes before the kitchen closed and I must give them credit for still serving us. Unfortunately there wasn't a lot of time to decide on our food choice and because of this I don't think we enjoyed our meal us much. If we visit in future we will time it better. The staff were... What a nice find. You must drop in but the smell of the bakery would attract you in any case. Freshly baked breads and pastries. Food is good and fresh.

Yesterday, my husband and I decided, on the spur of the moment, to have lunch here. We'd been to Bodega a number of times before and had a great meal. This time, we were disappointed: the menu has not been updated in years and our first choice, the Ploughman's Platter, was not available. My second option was the vegetarian quiche.... More

Sorry guys. We have eaten here several times under the previous management and had lovely food. The whole bakery theme has gone, together with the lovely front of house lady. The table sittings have increased four fold but were deserted when we visited. We ordered our usual favourites and the chicken almondine had no almonds and was obviously warmed up... More
