Nice setting for a perfect lunch

We had an excellent service in a beautiful garden setting, with some water sprinkled onto us to fight against the heat. The food was very tasty and wonderful prepared.

We had not been to Van Loveren for many years and remembered with pleasure the many wine tastings and sweetcorn fritters ...... The new wine tasting centre and shoppe is brilliant - modern but not ostentatious - well done. Christina's. We emailed early that morning for a booking and received a very professional reply while we were en-route. On arriving... More

A delightful restaurant serving simple, tasty food and their own wines. The gardens are magnificent.

We visited Van Loveren during the wine harvest one Monday early in March. It was one of the few restaurants open on a Monday, but what a find. Beautiful winery, and brilliant lunch of ostrich burgers with quite fantastic wine. My wife had Christina's Sauvignon Blanc which she thought exceptional, and my son Simon and I had the "Blackberry" Cabernet... More

We had the fantastic opportunity to visit the Bonnievale area this past weekend and lunch at Van Loveren was one of the highlights. The grounds are beautifully kept, the garden is lush, shady and beautiful, the place is neat and very well run. We arrived on Saturday afternoon shortly after 12:00 and the Bistro was starting to fill up and... More

I stop here all the time when passing through with cycling groups. The friendly and efficient staff are a delite to be served by. The relaxed atmosphere on the porch and under the vines goes down very well. Just a hint of warning, the place is always well booked over a weekend, so call ahead to save the disappointment. PS:... Great setting in the garden under the trees bringing relief from the heat of the day. Do not expect gourmet fare. This is a bistro with a pub / casual style menu. My burger was better then most pubs and my real niggle was the wine list. I know its a wine estate but having even one beer available would... More

We visited the stunning Van Loveren Estate on a Sunday (one of the few such Wineries open on Sunday). Christina's is in the old Manor House and is beautifully converted with undercover and open-air tables. The staff are charming and helpful and the choice of food is excellent. We chose pizzas as they are made in the oven there and... More

The wine tasting and the grounds of this vineyard are amazing, but, oh! the staff at the restaurant are tired and dis-interested. The food is average and the experience was disappointing. We should have been content with the wine tasting.
